Fitz Toussaint and Frank Clark will not play against Bama

  • maize&blue21 said...

    5-10 220.

I don't believe for a second that Rawls is better RB than Fitz at this point. He may have been a starter at the beginning of the season before he got injured, but he was healthy later in the season and got no meaningful snaps. When it became clear that the O-line was not built to gap-block and run from the I-form, Fitz is the only great back we have for zone running. If they try and smash Rawls into Bama's front 7, we'll end up with negative rushing yards. We need to spread it out, and run the offense that let us put 40 on Ohio State's defense. While not at the level of Alabama, that was still a pretty good D.

No its not. It hurts the entire team not just Them!! Boo!!!!!!!!! You guys just cost Floyd Mayweather 3million. I am sorry i know its the right thing but Chet this sucks and i am a Bama fan.

Why couldn't he wait until a game later in the year against a nobody team though? Really what is the problem with that? Now you guys will be saying the only reason you beat us is cause we didn't have 2 of our best players. This sucks. Oh well hopefully Bama wins by 40 points or more to shut that stuff up!!

Shockingly enough, at some schools, the "right" decision means upholding integrity, honesty, discipline and a good reputation, not just doing whatever makes the football team better.

They run similar, the difference in Rawls has the power to put it down Bama's throat if that is the game plan.

    Interesting.

When I say that, I mean he has the power to gain 3-4 yards on a run up the middle because he has the size to be tackled and move forward. I'm not saying he is going to rip off 10 yards on every run up the middle.

Eh, agree to disagree then. I certainly hope you are correct. He might be able to run over our back-up true-freshman safety in a spring game, or some Minnesota back-up defenders, but I'll believe he can bowl over Nico Johnson when I see it.

Nope, he is a bowling ball with pretty good speed. He broke all of Mark Ingram's high school records.

    That's not entirely true.

Okay, the designed run comment added some clarity.

But still, it seems more intuitive to assume a quarterback with DR's skillset would want to throw on the run, roll out of the pocket on bootlegs, etc. I'm not going to repeat the "arm punter" criticisms, but this is the first I've heard that sitting back in the pocket and making precise throws is how DR beats you.

He throws arm punts when he rolls out, that and when he is in the pocket he poses the threat to run and pass.

The hope is that with the full offseason to work on his passing skills, he will have gotten better. Especially with his decision making, way too many ints last year

LSU is bigger and better than UM at RB. We saw how that ended. Believe what you will though.

He's that much better then all of the LSU backs who got stonewalled at the line?

LSU backs running behind the LSU line at that...

Bama lost quite a bit of defense. The talent is there, but they lost a lot of game experience.

I actually hope Bama keeps Denard in the pocket, he is not a good player when he leaves the pocket.

What do you mean by that? Are the 50/50 jump balls that he throws less accurate when he throws them from outside the tackle box as opposed to when he's between the tackles?

Those 50-50 jump balls destroyed OSU last year.

Don't know what you have read or listened to, but Bama returns a ton of game experience on both sides. Only one player on defense, CB Deion Belue, has no SEC game experience. Everyone else is tested and very much experienced. Only three of our current starters didn't play in the National Championship.

Alabama would have blown Michigan out anyway, with or without all their players. Michigan's success last year was built on the Big 10 being a joke and the referees bailing them out in the Sugar Bowl

Alabama will win by two or three touchdowns, maybe even more
