Jimmy Johns and Jeremy Elder are about the only players kicked off by Saban. Jimmy Johns was arrested for selling cocaine to undercover police officers and Jeremy Elder was arrested for armed robbery

Deaderick's punishment.
Really interesting stuff last night from Brandon Deaderick. The sophomore defensive end will be filling in for Bobby Greenwood on the line while Greenwood recovers from a sprained ankle. We hadn't talked to him since his arrest this summer, so of course I had to ask about the fallout. Deaderick was pretty mature about it, saying he learned a lot. This was the lead in my college beats stuff today, but since it's not online yet, here is what went on: First, Deaderick insists, Deaderick received three charges: Giving a false name to police, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. According to Tuscaloosa Police spokesman Capt. Greg Kosloff, Deaderick cracked the window inside the patrol car with his head. Are you kidding He was arrested for 3 crimes: disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and giving a false name. He was not suspended for 1 game or even 1 play. His only punishment was working in a Tuscaloser nursing home, which I already knew about by the way.
I find it comical that a bammer would even bring that up, because I personally find that punishment to be pretty much of a joke. However, it does fall right in line with shorty saban's MO on discilpline. He had a player at LSU arrested for beating up a woman. That player was never suspended for 1 game or 1 play either. His only punishment was going on patrol with the Baton Rouge police department, which is also a joke

Ha ha i know what it was I could see what he was doing. It just puts a bad example out there for your school. Sounds like your school cares more about football than doing the right thing and suspending the player right then. Even the guys on ESPN said it was not the right thing to do.

To all the haters saying "Well Hoke should have suspended them weeks ago". What obligation does a coach have to inform the media of in-house decisions? It shows you have no leg to stand on. It's a pathetic argument. I don't even buy the gamesmanship angle as much. It was a full "Frigg off media/ESPN! You'll know when ya know..."
