He should try and catch on as a professor somewhere. He could make a steady income, summers off, occasional sabbaticals, and could still write.

He's doing that on a ... um.. I guess you'd say part time basis. He used to be extremely hardcore conservative, made the switch to the left-middle a few years back, then went full lib. He married a very financially stable lib, and he's happy as a pig in shish now. I'm happy that he's happy, but he wants to make his own mark. I should post a link on the tBB for the libs to check out his book. I want to give an honest, yet enticing review so people will actually buy it....my lack of talent in promoting something that doesn't fit my viewpoint has made me procrastinate. The brutally honest part is that you can tell it's his first real book, and in spots it really kind of drags on. However, if it was the kind of thing I wanted real info about, mixed with some humor and dirt, I suppose I would have loved it. I'm not in the business of lying to promote anything for any reason. I do, however, think that bookworms that are also libs would really like it.

    Definitely attach a link.

My political leanings sound a lot like your friend, except its been a full 360. Always considered myself a liberal growing up. In high school I turned somewhat to the right and freshman year in college I turned into a libertarian. It made sense on the surface, but the more I started actually reading and learning I gradually moved farther and farther to the left economically. I am now more or less a full blown liberal.

Okay, if you like it YOU promote it on tBB, =P. It should be available on all ereaders and I believe you can buy a paperback through Amazon. Please note that the title of the book is indicative of only the first few pages...but he's pointing out that Ayn is evil, and how her constituents follow...etc. He began writing right after the Tuscaloosa/Joplin tornadoes.

  • Actually, just read the reviews there. Most of them are better than I expected. Again..I think Rand is evil, but I otherwise don't line up w/ these politics, so I'm not the best to provide a review. (I'm also not the dimwit that said "George is my friend but his book sucks")
