Texas has been to 34 though which in my mind means 53% of the years since the first college world series began Texas was in the tournament...That is a lot. They only won 6 of those but still being the runner up 28/64 years and winning 6/64 years puts you in the legendary bracket in my eyes.

SEC was behind the times in baseball. Until the mid 80's, it was a west coast, Texas, and midwest sport.
In the last 27 years since LSU's 1st CWS appearance, they have been 15 times and won 6 of the last 21. In than same time period, Texas has been to 4 fewer CWS's and won 4 fewer. USC has only been to 4 and won 1 in that period.
LSU is the top program in baseball presently.
