In the next two weeks I'm planning on spending spare time trying out new recipes for football parties and am game to try a few new ones if anyone wouldn't mind sharing their favorites.
I prefer to take appetizer type stuff to parties (easier to transport), but need some new ideas for the Saturdays everyone comes to my place as well. So BB, what are your favorites? . . . Just finished preparing a simple stuffed pepper recipe I think I'm going to take with me to a party on the 1st. They look good, but aren't going in the oven for a little while though so I don't know how it will turn out. Until then...
Fresh peppers, sliced down the middle, hollowed out
block of cream cheese, softened and whipped with a fork
Mix of shredded cheddar, monterey jack, asadero, and queso blanco (I used the Sargento pre shredded mix this time but will probably grate it by hand next time)
bacon, fried before hand and cooled
Mix cream cheese and a couple handfuls of the shredded (personal preference) cheeses, pipe into the peppers...top with crumbled bacon.
**If you don't have a piping bag, you can always use a ziplock with a corner cut from the bottom, it's much easier and cleaner than trying to do it with a spoon.

I make this cheese dip to go with nacho chips
Velveeta close to whole package One or two cans of cheddar cheese soup Can of chili with no beans ground sausage fried up(normally use hot italian sausage) milk
Throw all in the crock pot on low and mix wait until velveeta is melted. Add milk as need to keep a thin to medium consistency. Once cheese is melted turn on warm or turn off and turn back on low as needed.
