    Any specific type?

I don't have any here but can keep some of the prepared peppers to try that way after I pick up some bread crumbs.

Right now I'm just trying different things, I don't like taking a recipe I'm unfamiliar with to a party.

Italian bread crumbs taste the best. They come in a circular container with a blue top. Can not think of the brand name

Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, Seafood Gumbo, Jambalya, Shrimp Etouffee, Fried Alligator (When we play UF), Roasted Duck.

LSU has food at tailgates that no one else in the country cooks. Om nom nom nom.

    Msn, that recipe looks scrumptious.

We take duck breast, half of jalapeño, stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped with bacon, then grill it. Try that one my boy. No brown sugar

    I'm moving to Louisiana.

Buffalo Chicken Dip. Easy to make, always a party favorite. It never lasts long. Layer..

Cream cheese Shredded Chicken mixed with hot sauce of your choice(we use Texas Pete) Ranch Topped with Mozz. Cheese.

    Bake until top is brown.

Pepperoni rolls. Kind of a West Virginia thing as I can't find them anywhere else.

Homemade dough. Wife makes potato bread that sits and rises overnight in the fridge. Pepperoni and if desired a cheese of your choice gets rolled into the dough and then baked. These also won't last long. Simple, yet delicious.

Definitely doing this one. Thanks Mountie!

That won't clash with the flavor of the peppers and cheese?

I just baked half of them and they definitely need something to kick the heat down a tad more. The guys will all love them, but it is still a tad too spicy. Squirrel (my daughter) took one bite and immediately grabbed her tea. she only ate the stuffing out of the second. LOL

Ha, I thought the same thing.

I don't see myself locating any gator up here, but I am going to try. I've wanted to make fried gator for a while, most people around here have never had it.

  • Just had this in a limo on our way to a concert last night. Full size pigs in a blanket. Regular hot dogs with croissant wrapped around them and baked.

Instead of bread crumbs, try panko. Much more light and crispy.

In the next two weeks I'm planning on spending spare time trying out new recipes for football parties and am game to try a few new ones if anyone wouldn't mind sharing their favorites.

I prefer to take appetizer type stuff to parties (easier to transport), but need some new ideas for the Saturdays everyone comes to my place as well. So BB, what are your favorites?

Just finished preparing a simple stuffed pepper recipe I think I'm going to take with me to a party on the 1st. They look good, but aren't going in the oven for a little while though so I don't know how it will turn out. Until then...

Fresh peppers, sliced down the middle, hollowed out

block of cream cheese, softened and whipped with a fork

Mix of shredded cheddar, monterey jack, asadero, and queso blanco (I used the Sargento pre shredded mix this time but will probably grate it by hand next time)

bacon, fried before hand and cooled

Mix cream cheese and a couple handfuls of the shredded (personal preference) cheeses, pipe into the peppers...top with crumbled bacon.

**If you don't have a piping bag, you can always use a ziplock with a corner cut from the bottom, it's much easier and cleaner than trying to do it with a spoon.

I have another twist on the stuffed jalapeno. Its a little more high maintenance so better for a smaller party. Stuff the pepper then wrap with a half slice of Bacon. Use a toothpick to hold it and throw them on the grill

Stovetop M&C is a regular around here and almost entirely homemade, Squirrel won't touch Kraft. Try using bow ties, it makes a big difference.

I'm a big fan of seashells. Sometimes you get a shell full of cheese and it's like heaven on a fork.

Sigh. I guess I'm a macaroni and cheese purist. I don't like anything but pasta and cheese in my macaroni. I love bacon. Just not in my macaroni and cheese.

Squirrel goes back and forth, but bow ties have been a favorite in the last few months and those are definitely my preference. She always picks the pasta though.

Nope. We use it on our stuffed peppers. Just sprinkle on the top
