Dell has already come out with their "student specials" for the Fall semester. If you buy one of the select computers then you get an Xbox 360 or a $200 Dell gift card for their online store. I've linked it for y'all...

dude.......do not by a dell, trust me! toshiba believe it or not is top of the line on laptops besides of course apple!

I've had three Dell's. Great computers. HP is the garbage brand.

I have had 2 Dell lab tops crap out in 18 months, the hard drive and the screen. I will never buy another Dell as they also have the worst customer service

other than Apple , HP is my favorite as i use two of them all day in my work environment ..JMO but Dell has a fine product to

No doubt, I have a Toshiba Satellite and it is going strong for 8/9 years now and just now slowing down a bit. About to buy another one.

Toshiba and Lenovo were ranked the best laptops in terms of failure rate (other than Apple).
Personally I have an Acer which was pretty damn cheap for the specs and it's entering year 3 without any serious issues.

I've had two Dell XPS' and both were great computers. My experience with customer service was just fine, too. I just went to their website last night to look for a TV tuner for my laptop, and I saw the college deals. That's why I posted it here.
