Fumble at the Goal line ?

  • OSU and their lame defense deserved to lose the game...

nevertheless the fact is the Horns RB fumbled before crossing the Goal line & it was scooped out of the pile by a Poke defender.
if replay isnt going to get it right we need to dump the replay-mode. shrug

  • I don't dispute that it wasn't a fumble, but it was going to stand whatever way it was called on the field.

unless they made the obvious call & called it a fumble shrug
either way OSU deserved to lose because they cant make plays on defense.

Agree. Instant replay was supposed to fix the obviously bad calls, especially when they determine the outcome of the game. You can't blame the on field officials for missing the fumble at full speed. But the replay officials should be allowed to take that into account and not be locked into the on field call when they have super slow motion in HD and multiple angles to help them get it right. Eliminate the "indisputable evidence" standard and let the replay officials reverse calls that appear wrong even when they don't have perfect evidence. They almost always have a better chance at being right because they have the benefit of technology.

  • Neither defense looked particularly good last night. OSU missed so many tackles that the stat guys probably had a hard time keeping track. Texas' defense just doesn't look good. That's a suprise to me. How long until Diaz's honeymoon is over for Texas fans? They have been pumping him up as the Mack Brown successor and the best thing to happen to the program in years, what happens if the defense continues to be so bad? Can they score with WVU?

imo the B12 looks to be a repeat of last year.

no defense (Baylor,OSU,& WVU's D's are near invisible)
team w/ the best QB wins, several others get vastly overrated, & w/out favorable matchups most get beatdown in bowls.

Nailed it. I'm just waiting for TCU's day of reckoning to come. They are about to get hammered.

While I agree that he fumbled before the goal line you are dead wrong about the recovery.. The ball laid on the turf till well after the play was over and the refs were pulling bodies off the pile when that guy reached in and pulled the ball out of the pile. The side judge was standing next to him when he came up with the ball. So UT would have had the ball at the 1 and it's over anyhow

  • the call was right there has to be be clear and immediate recovery to overturn which there wasn't. and the play was blown dead way before ppl started to come off the pile. he did fumble but the call was correct

  • Lots of teams will need to pull things together. With the exception of Alabama, the SEC looks like a train wreck so far. Hard to get excited about Texas' defense. One thing is constant, however. A&M nitwits puffing up with pride for no apparent reason. It will be fun to see lowly Ole Miss wallop them. Win or lose, one thing is certain. Ole Miss has much better fans and a much better game day environment.

  • Don't think so. Somehow with all that talent, your D is still worse than ours.

That is a truely frightening thought. Fortunately, our offense is much better than yours.

  • Score 66 points on Ole Miss and we will talk. You will score 7 points less than they score. Or perhaps you will actually win and demonstrate you aren't in the lowest rung of the SEC. I am actually rooting for you to work your way up to near the top of the bottom half of the conference. The same position you occupied in the Big 12.

the 3 teams you have wins against, have 4 wins total - and 2 of those wins belong to the fcs school you played. you lost to the only good team you played. at home.

Remind me, which was the team that wasn't afraid to tackle? The Georgia team that gave up 44 points or the Tennessee team that gave up 51? At least LSU held Towson to 22 points. So far this year only Kent State and William & Mary have done better. Towson scorched St. Francis (PA) for 46 points. SEC, SEC, SEC!

we've won a road game against an sec team. we've won a road game against a b12 team that won 12 games last year. your 3 wins come against teams w/ 4 wins total - 2 of those by an fcs team. your schedule is a dumpster fire.

    roger huerta

  • Are you trying to argue that Ole Miss, and a team that lost to Arizona, validate your schedule?

    I'm expecting more from you.

It's okay for "sec defenses" to give up lots of points because Baylor and West Virginia did? Spin, spin, spin.
