  • With Google pushing it's new Nexus program, there should be some absolutely insane phone coming out next year. I think over the next 18 months we'll see a huge movement of new super phones.

I just laugh at the sheep. I have no problem if people prefer the simplicity of IOS and iphone as personal preference.

The ones that still believe the iphone 5 is actually innovative though and pushes the envelope new features though I just can't help but be amused by.

and they always have some "reason" as to why the iphone doesn't have a certain new tech.

    like:

"LTE drains too much battery...we don't need it" --- then the iphone 5 gets LTE and the battery in it is exactly the same size as the iphone 4's battery

    or

"NFC isn't even being used enough right now" --- NFC payments through your android phone are accepted at these stores and anywhere PayPass is used:

    The Home Depot
    Rite Aid
    Walgreens
    McDonalds
    Jack in the Box
    Best Buy
    7 Eleven
    Chevron
    Macy's
    ToysRUs
    Radio Shack

I just don't understand how anyone can stand the width of the screen.

They're just getting hammered without Jobs and will continue to fall for years to come.

Very much. Since switching she is in the boat if people that can't believe people would buy an iPhone. Its a really nice phone. She loves taking a lot of video, and then snapping a picture while watching that video. Her favorite feature on the phone.

It came with the 4.0, so I'd say it's on either one now.

I'm excited about the future of Motorola though. Their Droid line is great IMO. But, within a few years, I think they'll surpass Samsung.

They were bought by Google earlier this year. I think it'll take about a year for Google to structure everything the way they want. Once they do though, I expect everything Motorola produces to be strictly Nexus phones.

    No.

Samsung is on a torrid pace right now. They just posted a $7.5 billion net profit for the last quarter alone. This is nearly what apple makes a quarter.

According to NPD, the top five smartphone brands, and their market shares, in Q2 were as follows (USA):

    Apple: 31 percent
    Samsung: 24 percent
    HTC: 15 percent
    Motorola: 12 percent
    LG: 6 percent

And worldwide the distribution looks like the attached image

  • I realize where Motorola stands currently. I'm saying I think Motorola's position will rise, and rather quickly, once Google completely integrates themselves into the company.

I think you'll see a few things from Motorola:

    1) More of a presence across all US carriers. Right now, their wagon is hitched to Verizon.

    2) A Droid line that will be converted or partnered with a Nexus line.

    3) Take the lead in pushing Android updates to it's devices in terms of how many will get future updates and the speed in which they happen.

If those things happen, Motorola will surge.

    GO NOLES!

I was just basing the motorola ranking based on past experiences, but they do seem to be improving.

  • If a change from the IPhone, is there a way to take all my music with me to the new phone? Please say yes because that's the only thing that keeps me holding onto the IPhone.

I'm sure there is. I just download everything I want with an app. Its nice not dealing with iTunes anymore.

Just keep your iphone as a music player and get a different phone.

I have an ipod so that music player portion has never factored in for me.
