  • so put some thought into the last scene and why they changed it and it makes sense. They are trying to set up what happens next, which I won't spoil, but in the book they do it with some other men from the watch. But to save on time and lessen confusion with additional characters they have cut the role of the other men and made this the catalyst instead.

Just one of the many instances where the book can give you so much more detail then the show.

You could flip that and tell people to stop asking questions. We are being as vague as possible. I thought that it was pretty obvious what happened to humans killed by the white walkers in the very first scene of the series.

I was not talking about that. You mentioned when we might see them again. That is a spoiler and some don't want to read that.

If people ask questions that would require spoiling something and you feel inclined to answer send them a PM.

I also started a thread will full spoilers.

Some might consider commenting that a new character that was just introduced today and got 10 seconds of screen time is one of your favorite characters as a spoiler. Now we know we will see him again and he might be important.

and i'm not even sure if his comment counts as a spoiler since I think he is wrong.

All I said was "later". I'm just saying this Aussie and won't get into the whole thing or name them but it's going to be later until those I named getting big. North of the wall people will be involved but not those I spoke of. Not this season.

  • I am not impressed with Season 2 thus far. Maybe because I have read the books.

  • Recap of the episode.

    Starks -
Arya - Currently known as Arry. She is traveling with Yoren, north hoping to be dropped off at Winterfell. She is traveling with med and boys heading to the Wall. Two soldiers show up and she believes they are looking for her, but they are looking for Gendry. This scene also introduces the 3 characters in the cage and especially Jaqen H'ghar, and there is also Rorge and Biter.
Jon Snow - He is approached by Samwell and I'm assuming Gilly, a daughter of Craster, to take her back with them when they leave Craster's house. Jon gets upset with Samwell, asking him that if he loses a hand for touching a daughter, what does he think will happen if they take one. For the last scene Jon follows Craster out into the woods when he hears a crying baby. There is a shadow of someone heading back to the house and Jon goes towards the crying, behind the tree's there is something that picks up the baby and disappears, most likely an Other. Jon is knocked the eff out, I'll have to watch again to see if it was Craster or Mormont.

    Lannisters -
Tyrion - Lots of screen time this week. Starts with a conversation with Varys, when Varys shows up at the brothel Shae is living in, or wherever Shae is. More or less tells Varys that he isn't as naive or honorable as his predecessors. He also dismisses Janos Slynt to the Wall and promotes Bronn to Captain of the Watch. Janos was the captain of the guard who captured and killed Ned Stark in season 1. Tyrion is replacing Cersei's men with his own men, and sorrounding himself with people only he trusts. Tyrion and Cersei have another conversation after he replaces Janos and he finds out that Cersei didn't order the babies to be killed. He also tells his sister that they have no way of controlling the millions of people if they become unhappy.
Cersei - Only in the scene with Tyrion.

Littlefinger - This week he is shown in his brothel. He gave a long speech to one of the whores, more or less telling her to enjoy what she is doing or he will send her off, but he always makes his money. I think they are trying to show the two sides of him, the cunning side and the cruel side.

    Greyjoys -
Theon - Heads to Pyke, where his father, Balon is the 'king' or lord of the islands. On the boatride over he takes up with the captains daughter. When they land he ends up getting a ride with a woman. Theon is very cocky and thinks that every woman wants to sleep with him. He also thinks that everyone would be impressed with his return to the islands, but gets a lukewarm reception. Theon goes to his fathers castle, where again, he thinks he is going to get a warm reception, but is more or less told he is only a Greyjoy in name. At this point, Theon finds out the girl he got a ride from is his sister, Asha is her name in the books, but they are calling her Yara in the TV series. Theon gives the terms and conditions that Robb wants for an alliance, but Balon says he will take a knee to no one and burns them. He has other plans and Theon needs to decide whose side he is on.

Balon Greyjoy- Lord of Pyke, Theon and Yara's daughter.
Yara Greyjoy - Theon's younger sister, I believe they said she was a captain or has already captained ships.

    Targaryan -
Daenarys - Her Khalasar is shown all laying down, starving and weak. One of the three horses returns without all of the rider, his head was in a satchel. Jorah tells Daenarys it was a message from another Khal. There are still two horsemen out there.

    Baratheons -
Stannis - Shown to be very practical. He knows he can't win the war without his brother Renly's men. He mentions that 9 times out of 10 the man with the larger army wins, Melisandre tells him this needs to be the 10th time. Stannis asks Davos to go and make an offer to a pirate/raider named Sallandhar Xho (I'm going to have to double check the name). Davos returns to let him know Salladhar will join them. Melisandra also tells Stannis that in order for him to recieve the power of R'hllor he needs to join with her physically. During this time it is revealed his wife is in a tower.

Davos Seaworth - It is revealed that he has lost fingers to Stannis, but he only loves Stannis or looks to him as his god. He owes everything he has to Stannis, and he has undying loyalty towards Stannis.

I tried to sum up most of what I remembered, and I'm sure I left something important out, but I can't think of it right now. Again, I'm just trying to sum up the episode without giving too much away or sticking to what the books say either.

Good write up. A couple of my thoughts.

Littlefinger: I didn't think he was saying he would send her off. He mentions the other girl that cried, and letting a man "transform" her and use her in ways most men would never think of. I thought this suggested he would let the man kill her and then have sex with her. Or at least maim her in some way. This shows how twisted Baelish can be, and that he really only cares about his own interests (mitigating his losses).

Greyjoys: I wonder why they changed Asha's name. Maybe to avoid confusion with Osha back in Winterfell?

Stannis: I don't remember Stannis ever having sex with Melisandre. Thinking back on it, this would probably hinted at like Renly being gay. With HBO, they want to show as much sex as possible.

  • I heard from a friend that Season 2 will be somewhat slow, and Season 3 will pick up.

I just want some chit with the whitewalkers, and some wars to go down between the Stark's and Lannister's.

Cersei or Khaleesi? Who would you rather?
