probably the same. I forget why she went to see the warlocks in the books but this is just the excuse to get her there. Once she gets there i'm guessing it ends the same way.

She went to them because everyone else in Qarth turned her down.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

After reading all the novels and watching the show tyrion is by far my favorite character. When the first book was written i dont even think George Martin realized what a great character he had there.

So true. His intellect and ability to handle all of the moving parts is uncanny. He seems to be the only one in his family that isn't a total a-hole.

I absolutely love the way he smacks that kid around too. haha

    Episode 6

New Characters Ygritte – Wildling with Jon

    Starks –

Bran – The dream Bran had in the last episode has come true. Theon has taken over Winterfell during the night, while Roderick went to Torrhen Square. Bran publicly announces to the town that Theon is their new lord. Osha bends the knee to Theon and offers to help him however he needs help, with a spear or in other ways. Roderick is captured and killed in front of the whole town, by Theon. Maester Lewin is also able to get a raven off before he is captured to warn Robb of what has happened. At the end of the episode Bran, Rickon, Osha, Hodor, Shaggydog and Summer are shown leaving the castle, to me it looked like they were entering the Godswood in Winterfell, but they might have been escaping.

Hodor – Hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor hodor…hodor hodor hodor hodor, hodor.

Jon – Qhorin tells Jon more about the wildlings and some of the rumors they are hearing about Mance Rayder, and that Mance is searching for something in the mountains. They are unsure how big his army is, later it is found out to be around 100,000. Jon and the other men find a camp with 3 or 4 wildlings in it who are watching for the men of the nights watch. They attack everyone in the encampment and the person Jon is fighting turns out to be a woman. That is Ygritte, she tells Qhorin and Jon to burn the bodies of the dead, but they refuse. Qhorin is about to kill her, when Jon says that he will do it. Qhorin and the other 3 brothers leave. Jon is unable to kill Ygritte and she runs away, until Jon eventually catches her. She asks if there is going to be a fire and he says no, they end up laying down together and she begins to grind up against him, even after he tells her to stop.

Robb – The girl from Volantis is back and Robb talks to her some more, inviting her to dine with him. He thinks that she is of noble blood, but it is left in the air as to who she might really be, or if she is who she says she is. Catelyn returns to his camp and see’s him talking to the girl. She reminds him that he has been promised to another and he can’t break that oath. He says he remembers his oaths. Soon after they get the note that Maester Lewin wrote about Winterfell falling to Theon, Catelyn screams that you should never trust a Greyjoy. Robb is ready to go back to Winterfell to save his brothers and the town. Roose Bolton talks Robb into letting him use his bastard to take back the city. Robb reluctantly agrees, but does stay with his Army to continue fighting the Lannisters.

Sansa – She is with the royal family as they watch Myrcella sailing to Dorne. On the way back to the castle someone hits Joffrey in the face with a tomato, at this point he orders his guards to find the person and kill him. A riot breaks out as the people of Kings Landing, who are starving, revolt against the king and the Kings Hand. Sansa is left behind while the guards get Joffrey back to safety. She runs down an alley and is followed by 3 or 4 men who then try to rape her. As one is about to start The Hound shows up and kills them all and then takes Sansa, the little bird, back to her safe cage. Sansa is in disbelief that people can hate her that much when they don’t know her. She told Shae that she hoped the king was dead as well, I think. Tyrion also checked to make sure she was ok after the Hound brought her back.

Catelyn – Warned Robb not to get involved with any women and yelled at Robb for trusting a Greyjoy.

Arya – Still Tywins cupbearer, she is witness to his inner circle of advisors. Ser Amory Lorch is told to read something from Tywin but can’t. Arya is asked to get a book with the names of all the lords and houses. She gets the book without being told which one it was, and Tywin figures out she can read. While he is questioning her about where she is from, she takes a note and rolls it up. After she gets the note it is announced that Littlefinger is there to meet with Tywin. Arya panicks some because she knows he might recognize who she is. Littlefinger eventually seems to figure out who she is, but he doesn’t say anything to Tywin during their conversation. She spills some wine on him so that she is dismissed. Outside she is reading the note when Ser Amory Lorch asks her what she is doing. She lies about what is on the note because she knows he can’t read it, but he takes it from her and heads off to tell Tywin. Arya runs all over the place looking for Jaqen and eventually finds him. She gives the second name of three and begs him to hurry, before he gets to tell Tywin. There is a knock on Tywin’s chambers followed by Ser Amory falling over dead with an arrow in his neck.

    Lannisters –

Tywin – Most of it was covered with Arya but worth adding a few more things. Tywin is a great strategist IMO. He knows his strengths and weaknesses and he doesn’t want to rush into a fight without knowing all the angles and possibilities of what can happen. He mentions during the talk with Arya that he considers his father weak, and they almost lost everything because of him, but he did get to watch him grow old. Tywin has complete control of his sorroundings, ironically he doesn’t know who Arya is though. He is very calculating, and although he can be cruel, he is not cruel without a purpose. He wants his son back, and that is what drives him the most.

Cersei – Seen watching her daughter sail away to Dorne. She tells Tyrion that whatever he loves, if he is capable of love, she will take that from him the first chance she gets. She gets caught up in the riot as well, but seems very aloof when Joffrey is making an ass of himself.

Tyrion – After Cersei threatens to take away anything he loves, he marches off and starts the procession back to the castle. He senses that the crowd is getting restless and orders Joffrey to be taken back as quickly as possible. At this point Joffrey is hit by a tomato, and orders that the person who threw it to be taken and killed. This sets off the riots and Tyrion makes sure that Joffrey is protected. Once they get back to the castle he asks where Sansa is. Joffrey says he doesn’t care and hopes that she gets killed, or something to that effect. Tyrion smacks Joffrey and tells him that everything is his fault, including the war, because of his stupid decisions. He more or less dares Joffrey to have him killed, and mocks him by saying that his hand is still attached to his arm. He tells Joffrey to order his kingsguard to go find Sansa. If Sansa were to die, the Starks will have no reason to keep Jaime alive, and it seems as if only Tyrion realizes this. The Hound brings Sansa back to the castle and Tyrion makes sure she is ok.

Jaime – Not in this episode.

Joffrey – He mocks his brother for crying when Myrcella is sent away. Sansa quietly says she has seen him cry. Although he is upset with Sansa for what she said he lets it go when she explains it away. He starts the riot in the city by ordering the death of whoever threw the tomato at him. He is also humiliated in front of most of the kingsguard and other royalty by Tyrion in the castle.

    Greyjoys –

Theon – First seen entering the room with Bran, he tells Bran that he has to tell the people of the city that Theon is the new lord. Bran at first is defiant, but eventually he agrees. After Bran tells everyone that Theon is their new lord, he starts to talk to them, letting them know that he is there and the new lord. He seems surprised when he gets heckled, and he doesn’t seem to understand that the people don’t like him. He orders Maester Lewin to send notes to his father and sister that he has taken over Winterfell and to send reinforcements. While he is talking in the square, his men bring in Roderick. Roderick lets Theon know that he is a traitor. Bran even asked at one point if he hated the Starks the whole time. After Roderick spits on him, he was going to throw him in the dungeons, but instead he is told that his men will never respect him unless he uses the iron way (a little shaky about that). He looks conflicted, but condems Roderick. Roderick calls him a coward for not doing the deed himself, when it looks like another is going to cut off his head. Theon works up the courage to finally kill him. He is not that great of an executioner and it takes 3 hacks from the sword and a kick to finally knock off the head. Later, Osha tells Theon that she can take care of him in other ways, more physical ways. He sees her strip naked and says that he wondered what she looked like. He tells his guards to leave and her to stay. At some point in the night she gets up out of his bed and gets Hodor, Bran, Rickon, Shaggydog and Summer and they escape.

Yara – Not in this episode.

Balon – Not in this episode.

    Baratheons –

Only one left is Stannis and he was not in this episode.

    Targaryen –

Daenarys – She is looking for someone in Qarth to give her ships to go back to Westeros and claim her throne, but is not having any luck. She meets with just about every trader king, and none of them are willing to give her ships for future promises. She is called Mother of dragons, and she knows that most the traders are more interested in the dragons than her. Her and Xaro are coming back to his palace when they see that some of her Khalasar have been killed. They run up to her room where there is a dead handmaiden and the dragons are gone. Someone has taken the dragons and they are headed towards a tower

  • After having started the books I'm not very happy with how cold Lady Stark is to Jon. I understand the reasoning but I didn't picture her being so cold.

yeah she isn't the most likable character in the books. holds grudges and makes nothing but stupid decisions and gives bad advice based on emotion. Typical girl I guess. Alot of this gets glossed over in the show.

I never liked Catelyn Stark. Her stupid decision to take Tyrion hostage is one of the reasons the war between the Starks and the Lannisters begun in the first place.

In real life they did those gunner runs for over 8 hours

after a team would come in and finish another 2 would come in right behind them

It is estimated those birds killed over 40,000 something ( would have to check, something around this number IIRC ) Somali soldiers that night

Those idiots kept getting on the roofs to take elevated positions on the troops hiding in the buildings, and those birds just lit their asses up all night long

The movie only showed one run

Yeah I remember when they showed the causality numbers and the number for dead skinnies was huge.. figured it was from the air.

When the General says " if we don't hold back this city, we will have a 100 caskets to fill by morning " that is actually what he said before he orders that many birds to run all night missions in the real life mission
