Game of the Week

  • What do you think will be the marquee national game of the weeks throughout the country next year?

    Alabama at LSU
Michigan vs. Alabama in Arlington (Texas)

Probably our two biggest games in terms of national interest going into the season.

You really can't go wrong with either of those two.

  • What's going on in week 6? WVU vs. Texas if both teams are undefeated, of course.

Those are huge games. With the schedules, you would think the UGA game is an early must win for South Carolina. Then you have to figure that they have to pick up one of the LSU or Arkansas games, IMO.

I do think that UGA drops one game outside of you guys though out of the Mizzou, Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn.

  • week by week games that intrigue me (note that i'm a bama fan, so this is bias towards bama/sec since those are what most concern me. but i try to find at least 1-2 non-sec games each week):

    week 1:
    bama vs mich
    au vs clemson
    tenn vs ncst
    boise vs mich st
nd vs navy (only reason it intrigues me is it's in ireland)

    week 2:
    neb @ ucla
    wash @ lsu
    uga @ mizzou
    uf @ a&m

    week 3:
    bama @ arky
    usc @ stanford
    cal @ osu
    uf @ tenn

    week 4:
    lsu @ au
    cal @ usc
    clemson @ fsu
    mizzou @ usce
    mich @ nd

    week 5:
    tenn @ uga
    osu @ msu
    texas @ ok st
    arky @ a&m
    wisky @ neb

    week 6:
    arky @ au
    lsu @ uf
    va tech @ unc
    neb @ osu
    wvu @ texas
    uga @ usce

week 7: (bad week minus ou vs ut)
    bama @ mizzou
    RRSO (ut vs ou)

    Week 8:
    stan @ cal
    mich st @ mich
    va tech @ clemson
    lsu @ a&m
3rd sat in oct (bama @ tenn)

    week 9:
    a&m @ au
    WLOCP (uf vs uga)
    mich @ neb
    tcu @ ok st
    osu @ psu
    mich st @ wisky

    week 10 (best week, imo):
    bama @ lsu
    oregon @ usc
    va tech @ miami
    neb @ mich st
    tcu @ wvu
    texas @ tt

    week 11:
    fsu @ va tech
    uga @ au
    psu @ neb
    arky @ usce
    mizzou @ tenn

    week 12: (worst week, imo)
    ou @ wvu
    stan @ oregon

week 13: (rivalry week, very good)
    nd @ usc
    uf @ fsu
    uga @ gt
    miss st @ ole miss
    wisky @ psu
    mich @ osu
    oregon @ ore st
    usce @ clemson
    uva @ va tech
    IRON BOWL (au @ bama)
    tcu @ texas
    a&m @ mizzou

    week 14: (conf champ week)
    ou @ tcu
i think this is conf champ week, so SEC, Pac12, and B1G champ games here)

    week 15:
    navy vs army

i might have mixed up some home/away things.

also there's a chance i just whiffed on a major game in any particular week. think nothing of it, i just over looked it.

I do too..I think we'll win the tie breaker to win the East. I like our chances against Arky this year. Ellis is gone along with Petrino. We also get them at home after a bye week.

  • Michigan State at Wisconsin should be an awesome game.

MSU/Boise State should be good too but Boise State lost basically everyone. Still, Petersen is one of the best coaches in the country so I wouldn't count them out.

  • USCw and LSU both have a common opponent.. Washington.. Which might play a minor role during the season in the BCS computers.

I don't like comparing games like that honestly. Teams in the same conference that play each other regularly are more familiar with each other. That can help or hurt a team either way you look at it.

But yes, it could matter as far as computers and pollsters go.

The role will be more minor than you believe unless Washington beats one of the teams

I agree with you but as you said, the BCS and pollsters don't think like we do. They'll use that game as a comparison to the 2 teams which should never happen.. Unfortunately, it does.

Common opponent, different venue. UW is good and terrible on the road.

  • If both teams have 1 loss and there's an undefeated team out there.. That game def. could make a difference to the pollsters.. Like I said, I don't think that's right but it's how it goes sometimes in CFB.

Familiarity is an understatement. Kiff and Sark know eachother's schemes like the back of their hand. SC's talent edge should win out in the end, though.
