Gareon Conley commits to Ohio State

  • JTforpresident said...

Glad you took all of that time to get that. We didn't know Gareon was going to go beast mode and have a great SR year. He was a raw/underrated player his JR year. He may have been offered earlier most years, but Cam Burrows and Eli Woodard were better than him. Now, IMO, Cam Burrows is going to outgrow CB and become a safety. So we will have Gareon and Eli at CB, with Jayme Thompson and Cam Burrows at safety. And you never know, maybe Vonn Bell...

This is probably close to how things went down. Urbs missed on his #1 choice for S (Dymonte Thomas) and was hoping to reel in his second choice (Vonn Bell). But now, with Bell slipping away too, he has been forced to move Burrows to S and go after Conley. I don't blame him, because Conley should develop into a solid CB, but it does make you wonder what's going on with OSU recruiting. First, it was trouble pulling OL. Then you guys missed across the board on LB. And now it's S. Urbie better get this straightened out soon or OSU will have major holes all over its roster in a couple years.

  • Darron Lee and Jayme Thompson is a solid safety haul. We're not getting Vonn Bell. We could maybe get Redfield up here for a visit and let coach Urbs work his magic.

Man you're funny. It makes you wonder whats going on with UM recruiting when their class gets worse as the months go by. Second year in a row were going to pass you in recruiting, lol. Hoke better get some athletes on that team, or you guys are going to be in big trouble.

Glad to see you like to throw stones from a glass house. Besides the OL and maybe LB how's your recruiting turning out?

  • Skunkweasel.. flavor profile is that of sour grapes, with a creamy almost twinkie like softness to its center.. Doesn't sound great to me.. but ppl up north sure do like it.. huh

  • oh yeah.. Conley will be solid and will be developed by a coach with a knack for making chicken soup out of ..chickens??.. my point is that the kid is good and will become a solid player...Lets hope our AA Roby sticks around and our depth at cb should be much improved from the last few years..(im liking this whole food reference thing)biggrin

  • The only thing that TTUN has going for them is solid OL recruiting. But it just so happens that our DL is unreal right now. And who knows how many of their OL actually pan out. We've already seen Schutt, Spence, and Washington contribute as freshman. Then, not to mention this years class with two solid Defensive Tackles in Price and Hill. Then Bosa, Sprinkle and maybe Tyquan Lewis at DE. Our DL is going to destroy Shane Morris, Especially with our DBs locking up all of their receivers, who aren't very good. Urban knows what he's doing..

  • MrWoodsen has to be the most ignorant scum fan of them all. You make an excuse for every possible thing that happens. Meyer out recruited hoke last year given only two months, is beating UM on the field and is stealing their recruits this year.... No way to possibly spin we are kicking your ass in every aspect of football. Get over it

    Just Laughable

Good luck sending all of your tackles on a post. Should be interesting to watch.

Also better hope deveon does not get hurt next year as Rawls is not the real deal.

Feel comfortable about every position actually, albeit WR. But Michigan has brought in some depth in that position over the past 2 classes, just no one has "stood out" so to speak.

Dymonte Thomas is a stud. Best player in Ohio this year. You'll be regretting not receiving his commitment over the next 4 years.

roflmao Take the Blue and Sun glasses bud. Good player, not the best in Ohio. That's a ridiculous statement.

  • Dymonte Thomas best player in Ohio? Lol, I don't even know what to say to that. He's not better than Jalin Marshall. Even 2014 Marshon Lattimore is better than Dymonte. I'd put Dymonte even with Cam Burrows

Aren't Marshall and Burrows supposed to be learning new positions once they get to OSU?

If you are so sure, where's your evidence? I can give you numerous scouts opinions that support my belief. Mark Porter, Duane, the big 4 recruiting sites all believe that Burrows and Marshall are the two best. Jalin's penciled in at wr/rb mold. You cannot tell me Jalin isn't a glorified RB in High School. Burrows is either a CB or safety.

You don't have legit proof either. Recruiting sites are hardly right when it comes to predicting who will end up the best player.

  • Not sure Marshall has a set position. He's going to do everything on offense RB, WR, and I'm sure he will play QB in some packages. And no one really knows with Burrows. I personally think he will outgrow Corner, and turn into a safety.

Ehh... The scouts are more reputable than the nothing you have. Yes, currently you have NOTHING to base your statement on. I, at least, have opinions on people who are good enough to be paid for their work.

I have said the same thing about Shane Morris, but OSU fans insist he is garbage.

UM fans saying Dymonte is the best player in Ohio is just as credible as OSU fans saying Morris sucks.

Talent-wise it's hard to find a guy with a gun like that. Which is why he's highly rated. We provided stats, games against better competition such as St. Iggy's. It's biased, but a bias that is based on some facts provided. All which can be explained, but puts a shred of doubt.

Which is more than what Joester did, stating an assumption and providing any evidence.
