A lot of times coaches move for things other than what we all talk about on the surface. In this case, it could be something that happened recently on a university level that rubbed him the wrong way.
And just one opinion, but Gary Patterson is a damn good football coach. Would be a quality hire for Arkansas - from a pure football coaching standpoint.

Not really. What Arkansas has in money and resources, TCU makes up for in location and recruiting base. Arkansas will never be more than a middle of the road SEC team in large part because they have no in state recruiting base, and they're about the 6th or 7th option for kids from the other states they do recruit. TCU has no such issue. They've been able to recruit well against every regional power they recruit against, outside of UT. For that reason alone, I'd say the ceiling of both programs is fairly similar.
