VT made more mistakes, and played worse on ST.
Making necessary big plays, and not playing stupid are things that make good teams. VT lacked that quality.
Again nothing from that season suggests VT was a better team.

...yet still won. I don't care about stats. It is impossible to dominate a game in which you do not win. If you gain a lot of yards but can't get the ball in the endzone, you didn't dominate. That's not how football works. You have to actually, ya know, score.

The Detroit Lions had the 3rd most yards in the NFL this year and over 1000 more than they gave up on D , what a dominant team..
