Georgia Tech and the B1G next?

If the Big-10 wants to go south, then why not Florida St? I would love to see FSU in the Big-10.

Because FSU doesn't have the academics to join.

  • Well at least we are heading good football talent shrug

I suppose this could give B1G teams more exposure to DC area and Atlanta area kids which would be huge with recruiting, but I just don't see it benefiting the strength of the conference athletically.

Before anyone goes nuts; I realize athletic contribution is not the only issue, nor the most important issue in expansion of conferences. It's just all I care about personally as a fan though.

If it's good for recruiting, it's good for the strength of the conference athletically. The greater exposure in new areas, the extra money that's gonna come in, and the cemented status as one of the superconferences, all these things will help the B1G athletically. It would be nice if we could have accomplished those goals by adding a school with established big time football tradition (e.g. Texas or something), but this is definitely still an upgrade.

  • no one actually 'wants' tech.... come on. the acc would get rid of them but they help bump up academics for the conference.
