  • I only support welfare for people that truly need it (and look for more stringent regulations on who can get it), but I feel like we've crossed a line from people hating moochers to people simply hating the poor.

    It's because they've become almost indistinguishable. So many people are poor nowadays just because they know the government will support them. There is no initiative to change. It's hard to tell the difference between people who are just struggling and those who are content with collecting their government check each month.

I feel bad for someone who pours their heart out and comes up short. I'll pitch in for those folks 7 days of the week. This country and BO have created a class of people, very much like our prison system, where you'd think they'd be miserable but they are actually quite chill and pleased with where they are at.

    Standards for who gets the money and how much goes out have weakened. The stats prove it, BO is a welfare president.

    This is what you want so badly to be true. But it couldnt be farther from the truth. But continue to say it though, I know it makes you feel better about your own life.

    Basic human psychology allows you to understand that if you dont make someone work their way out of a situation, instead sustaining them in it, they will be fine with staying.

    There's no arguing on message boards about that. Face to face people are much more reasonable. So I'll bow out.

    That is absolutely ludicrous. People are happy about being poor, they don't want to be well off? I find that hard to believe, and it certainly was Obama who created this type of person. There are always leeches, but for as many leeches there are many more people scrapping tooth and nail to put food on the table for their family.

    You'd have to be honestly pretty naive to think in 4 years Obama has had a big enough effect to create a "class of people who are happy to be poor but live off government money". It just holds no water whatsoever, and I'm wondering where the hell you come up with this crap. There isn't even a class of people in Canada like that, and we have MUCH more social assistance than you folks. Providing welfare does not create freeloaders, because welfare is dirt poor money and people want more.
