Getting a new set of Golf Clubs

I have a contract with another company to play their equipment and hit their balls.

You work at a club right?

Yeah they are amazing clubs. I don't play enough anymore to rationalize the expense of buying more. Plus I still don't have a driver or 3 wood which come first. It's funny, my handicap went from a 7 to a 13 once I started working in golf.

It doesn't seem like Mizuno promotes their stuff very much.

Outside of Luke Donald I can't think of anyone that plays them on the PGA.

  • Good thread. Few thoughts.
Get clubs fitted. Get clubs that fit your golf level. I've got a few sets of old hogan blades. Love them. Also have a few sets of old ping eye 2 ans 3's.
once the patent ended on the cavity back in the late 80's everybody made a club similar to the pings.
Also used clubs...ie play it again sports is a great place to pick up great clubs for a good price.
The high end clubs are great, but you're also paying for advertising.
Save some money and use it on lessons.

Agreed, I have the mp 30's with rifle project x 6.0 flighted shafts and love them. My dream irons though are the mp 57's.

  • Well.. I just got my set.

I got Calloway Razr X Irons

Adams Super S Speedline Driver, 3 Wood and 5 Hybrid

    Odyssey Putter

Nice new Nike Bag, Nike Golf Shoes and Nike Gloves

Pro V1x balls and another brand of balls that were crazy expensive but I forgot what they are.

I'm very happy with my set, I'm hitting them well and straight so far.

I've ran through so many clubs and played my whole life but now I'll be playing 2-4 times a week at least (just moved on a very, very nice Golf Course). I used to be an avid golfer but got away from it the last 3 years, now it feels fantastic getting back out there as much as possible. My Mother, step dad, real dad, brother and most of my co-workers all play and most of us decided to start playing together more often.

Anyways, spent $2,200 on everything.. Well worth it.

I hav no idea what your skill level or club head speed is, but I'd check to make sure you are playing the right golf ball. ProV1 is a great ball but only if it fits your game. IF it does then its worth the money, but it is a waste if it doesn't. Check it out.

    They still have the Prov1.

The ProV1 and the ProVx are Titleists high performance line. The ProV1 is softer and takes less ball speed to compress. It will also more around the green.

If I were you I'd buy a sleeve of NXT Tour "S" and compare it to the ProV1 you used to play. I think you'll like it and its way cheaper.
