I am trying to host a fundraising golf tournament this spring. Any advice from anyone that has done it before?

4-man captain's choice tournament...planning on serving lunch and having the usual prizes/ closest to the pin and longest drive
Sorry, I meant how much are you trying to raise and for what cause?
its just for a softball team and as much as possible
Well, I've never really put on a tournament myself, but I've played in a million of these.
I would focus on selling hole endorsements. Get someone (a professional) to make signs that can be placed at each tee. Have the team go to local business and sell them for $100 apiece for the advertising. If you sell three per hole, that's $5400 minus the cost of the signs. Use some of the entrance fees to pay out prize money and see if some parents will get together and make the lunch.
I may be totally wrong though.
ok thanks, I appreciate the advice. I have played in several myself but have never been involved in putting one on
