  • I actually do know a lot about football. Let's not assume.

Yeah but you're also forgetting he had the best defenses statistically when he was at Cal. So you have no idea what you're talking about.

You're not gonna get my opinion of Allioti sucking to change. He's garbage. Doesn't know how to stop the big play. The guy sucks.

Yeah, I did, but I also told him I love HIM...he just laughed, hugged me and said it was OK..because I love our alma mater, USC. Ronnie is a Trojan before he's a 49er.

Coach O is now the Asst Head Coach, and he's the most important coach on defense, IMO. I think he will work best with Pendy, but I think Coach O will have more say than he did with Monte. That is a good thing.

Coach O is a very good DL coach and a ferocious recruiter.. I don't know if he is the greatest DC, DB or LBer coach but he's a guy every school in the nation would welcome on their staff.

People think that Lane Kiffin was the problem but I don't think he was. Our defense SUCKED. Monte Kiffin IMO was the reason for our woes. LK did childish things throughout the season but in every game we lost besides ND we scored enough points to beat out opponents. I leave out GT because supposedly LK wasn't calling plays.

My point is if we improve our defense our team will improve drastically taking the heat off LK. Allioti would not have improved USC's defense playing a bend-don't-break scheme.

Also, I'm in the minority that think he can do big things at USC giving the chance and he's shown he can. Hell look at 2011. No way you go 10-2 playing for nothing with wins @Orego, @ND, and a blowout win over over rival UCLA. Not to mention the fact that he took Stanford into triple OT.

The fact that he went 7-6 yet is still about to bring in a top 10 maybe even top 5 class right now eases the pain. He's pumping talent into the program even after crappy season but if this happens in 2013 then I honestly don't expect Kiffin to be at USC and fully expect a new coach to come in right away and win with the talent Kiffin brought in.

I may seem to optimistic when I say this but isee it as a win-win situation for USC. The new coach comes in and wins with Kiffin's talent or Kiffin grows up and become the USC thought he'd be when they hired him.

Edit: Not to mention the fact that 2014 is the last year for scholarship reduction. Bodes well for either Kiffin or a new coach who won't be working with limited numbers.

Agreed, never said he would be the greatest DC, but he is without a doubt, the second most popular assistant coach in USC history.

Coach O was not made the DC, but he was given more power, and he will have a lot more say in the running of our defense than he did with Monte at the helm...he has earned that.

This coming from a team that had Monte Kiffin as there D coordinator last year lol plzzzz. Facts Rank Team Yards YPP TDS YPG 47. Oregon 4581 5.01 33 381.75 63. USC 4753 5.32 36 396.08 And to top it off we run a hurry up O.

Umm, okay. I'm not sure why you're bringing Monte Kiffin into the conversation. We fired him because he was no good. It makes no sense to bring him up.

A better comparison would be Allioti to Pendergast , oh, you know, the guy we recently hired instead of Allioti.

Let me get this straight. If, say, a Stanford fan came on here and said, "Allioti is garbage," you would have no problem with it because the team for which he roots had a great defense last year. But because those words came from a USC fan, it's not okay with you because the Trojans didn't have a great defense last year, correct? That has got to be the most absurd logic ever. Okay. Fine. Let's pretend I'm a Stanford fan right now. "Allioti is garbage." You're not going to refute that now, are you?

My point is, it doesn't matter who says it. If the statement is true, then it's true.

Not to flame but I could recruit a top 10 class at USC.. That school recruits itself. USC needs a guy to handle the big egos of the blue-chip Athletes and coach up the immense talent USC pulls.

Any coach can recruit well at USC.

Waiting on your reply as to why Oregon defense gave up 51 points to USC yet inferior teams didn't.

It's pretty simple. SC looked at the Oregon game as the Super Bowl. Of course SC fans won't admit it, but there's is nothing more SC wanted then to beat Oregon. Yes Oregon lost to SC the previous year at Autzen, but the Ducks bruised SC's inflated egos and pride for a few years before that, not to mention dethroned SC as the self proclaimed kings of the Pac.

SC has a hard time dealing with Oregons recent success. No need to bring up your history and tradition. I said "recent success." Also, everyone knows that SC wouldn't have had all the preseason hype and #1 ranking had they not beaten Oregon at Autzen. Actually, SC fans should thank Oregon for the brief hype and they had. I don't care what the SC fanbase says, but I guarantee that Lane and his minions had November 3rd circled as the most important game of the season.

Point is SC put their hearts and souls and sweat, blood and tears into that game and still ended up falling short. Oregon won in record setting fashion. Sure our D gave up alot of points, but our O bent SC over and broke them in half in front of 70,000+ SC fans. Oregon did to SC at home what has never been done in the history of SC's rich, tradional history.

As for Nick Alioti turning down SC, good for him. Smart move. Perhaps the SC fanbase did not want him, but let's face it, it's not the fanbase that matters. Point is the SC coaching staff and the AD see Alioti as a talented DC and they wanted him. He must be doing something right to be given the oppurtunity to turn down the mighty Trojans of SC. Lol. Now they've settled for Cals DC. Good luck with that one.

Here's to at least a few more years of Oregon dominance over SC. Have fun with Max Wittek as your QB. He looked awesome against GTech.

Banker wanted the job. I don't think USC ever contacted him or offered him the position. You can keep Allioti though. If LK wanted to lose his job hiring him would have been the nail in the coffin.

You're obviously uneducated and unable to maintain a logical conversation.

Try really, really hard to concentrate on what I'm about to say, pothead. As soon as a USC fan criticized Nick Allioti, your team's DC, you got defensive, immediately pointing out the flaws in USC's defense last year. So, what I'm saying is that if that same criticism came from, say, a Stanford or Alabama fan, you probably couldn't say anything back, seeing as how Bama and Stanford both have a way better defense than Oregon.

Like I said earlier, it made no sense for you to criticize Monte Kiffin, considering he's no longer USC's defensive coordinator. We fired him because he was deplorable.

Both Monte Kiffin and Allioti sucks. Allioti can't stop the big play when a team is capable of executing them. Bend-don't-break only works because of your offense.

Your shit defense won't allow you to win a NC so it doesn't really matter. Kelly is gone too so any hope of winning one is out the window.

I'm so sick and tired of people like you who think since Chip is gone Oregon can't win a NC. Do you realize how dumb that makes you look? That's like saying since Petey C is gone SC will never have a chance of winning a NC. It's retarded. The system and program have been set into place and is consistently gaining momentum.

Only way Oregon falls off is if we get nailed with sanctions(which we won't) or if Oregon stops pulling in top talent. You're obviously not very bright. Harbaugh left, Stanford will fall into an oblivion. Lol. Shaw came right in and ran the exact system and finished a top 5-10 team again. Nice try though. Come up with some substance next time.

Well good thing you're a nobody because if you weren't your opnion would actually matter.

And we had a down season lmfao. How many times has Oregon had a 7-6 season in their school history. Get off your little stoop and stop acting like Oregon has been around for decades. You just popped up on the scene in '08. SC has been here before yet still bounced back. Lol even in our down years you still haven't done 1/4 of what the Trojans did when they domimated. Your the new kid on the block. Sit down before you get smacked by your elders.

It'd be different if you were a blue blood yapping off at the mouth but y'all are still youngins. Y'all haven't even won a NC yet walk around like y'all have actually done something lol. GTFO

Aww, someone's mad. Tough guy ay? I love when folks bring up "blue bloods" and "tradition" and "history." Hey man I get it. You have to hang your hat on sometning. If it's not the things I mentioned above it's SC has a "top 5 recruiting class." Lol. Congtrats. You were once relevant and you can attract kids to sunny SoCal. Tough feat. Well, gee, it's kind of hard to flourish under sanctions. Just wait until Oregon gets the hammer dropped on them by the NZAA. If you think that won't happen, you're delusional.
