Massive guy, massive serve, massive forehand. Unfortunately he's just too big to be a serious Top 10 player. Doesn't have other very developed tools and at the 6'10 body gets tired a lot faster than the 6'1-6'2 of the top players. He can be competitive don't get me wrong...

What Federer was able to do was record-breaking obviously and had probably the most dominant few years of any one in the Open era. But Nadal coming along was better for tennis in the long-run it made it more interesting. Before that it was like a bull mastiff beating up on a poodle in 90 percent of his matches.

Oh I don't disagree with that.
And I'm honestly not trying to take anything away from Nadal here, but I just think the idea that he was in fact vincible creeped into Fed's mind in the wake of Wimbledon 08, a thought that seemingly had never once crossed his mind before then. And once that happened, he lost a little bit if his edge IMO

Huge tennis fan here. Isner is a great guy and has a tremendous serve, but the rest of his game is below-average for the tour and any decent player having a quality return game can expose his flaws, unless his service placement is lights-out (and those matches do happen).
The quality of play on the men's tour is ridiculously good, and the USA would be tennis-crazy if it had a player in contention for Slams. As it stands, most USA events are drawing record crowds every year despite the recession - pro tennis is a great value in live-sports entertainment.
The best part of the tour is that the vast majority of the star players are cool guys off the court. Fed in particular went out of his way to be nice to my wife and daughter at Indian Wells a few years ago. I'm hoping for a Fed-Del Potro QF at the Aussie Open - Delpo is my personal favorite.
Oh, and BTW, if you have an opportunity to attend a joint ATP/WTA event, there are certain female players who are easy to watch practice.
