People that don't want guns constantly try to poke holes in the reasoning of people that do. They say hunting, you say you only need 1 rifle. They say recreation, you say that is stupid. They say home protection, you say they only need a good alarm system and police on speed dial.

Since you categorize everyone that wants to keep their guns as some paranoid militia wanna be, then I guess I should put you in the category of scared of guns, sissy boy. That is fantastic comedy to me. Go put on a pink apron and bake something.

Owning a Barrett is retarded. Owning shotguns, hunting rifles, whathaveyou not so much imo. I have changed my opinion on handguns tho... After my Dad accidentally discharged a 10mm in the kitchen. Kitchen also included my mom, my sister, brother in law, their 4 year old child and my grandmother. Almost the most horrific tragedy imaginable (by inches). It still gives me nightmares.

"Sir, I know you just broke into my house while I was upstairs sleeping, but do you mind if I slide by you so that I can get into the kitchen and microwave this baby oil? I'd also appreciate it if you'd put your gun back in your car because I don't believe in that stuff. I hope you know that if I call the police then they will be here in 10 minutes or so."

The likelihood of me needing a gun for self defense is about the same as the likelihood of you being killed by a gun in the hands of law abiding gun owner.

The argument of I probably don't need it is no greater than you probably don't need it banned (from law abiding citizens). Believing another individual doesn't need something is not a logical or constitutional reason to ban something.
