Bo is a lock. He lives down the street from the stadium and told guys in interviews that he would play WR at Bama instead of RB if that's what Saban wants him to do. His recruitment is done.

Marlon Humphrey goes to Hoover. To be honest, that's really all I would have to say about it and he would be a huge lean. But his father is Alabama football legend Bobby Humphrey. The world would end before he would go somewhere else.

Ah, I see, thanks for the info. How many spots will you guys have in 2014? I know Bama and Michigan will both have elite classes in 2014, as well.

I really don't know. 20-25 would be a vague but smart guess. We have a lot of Juniors that are thinking about going pro after this season. At least, they are highly thought of by scouts this early.

No, I don't really think your questions are out of line.

Michel and Scarbrough both are based on a combination of film and projection at the next level. Injuries are part of the game, but neither suffered an injury that impacted his ability to be a good player at the next level.

Got ya. Did Bo tear his ACL? Thought I read that...

Who's the 4 star? I know Humphrey is supposedly a lock. I know Bo is a lock. Who's the other.

Luatua from Cali TE brother of Isaac already at Bama is the four star .

It was some sort of knee injury, but he's completely recovered or at least looked like it at the Atlanta Nike Camp last weekend.

JW but would a kid get a lower grade if he seems to be very injury prone in HS?

Yes- Jonathan Gray- the kid that went to Texas in 2012 as a RB would have been a Top 5 prospect in America and clearly the top back had it not been for some durability questions. All of the prospects at the top are talented, so small things can mean a few spots this way or that.

It's early to say if Harris will end up being as good, but if he goes to UGA he will have the strongest arm since Stafford.

Got ya and agree with it completely. Same goes for people going into the draft. If durability is a question about a college player their draft status goes down. Marcus McNeil was a prime example of that coming out of Auburn. People question his back and I think he would have gone in the first if he didn't have those questions. He ended up going in the second and being a great player but now is having those same issues.

Really bias? for the 2013 class you guys have 31 players in the 247 top players. No other state has more.

  • Curious if the Lane kid is little brother to Marlin Lane sophomore at Tennessee, seems like he might have been from Homestead.

I think "more bias" is a stretch considering we have 31 California kids, 31 Texas kids and 31 Florida kids in our Top247 for the 2013 class. But I get that it's easy to just scream bias whenever there is something that you don't agree with when it comes to media. That's the way things go and I get that.

But believe me we've spent a ton of time on the West Coast this spring, talked to numerous college and high school coaches that recruit out there and combed through list after list and there just aren't very many known guys right now. You hate to throw the "down year" label on a top talent-producing state this early and I do think more players will emerge, but they just have not yet. We didn't just throw the list together and look at it and go "one California kid, well those players aren't any good anyway".

No Marlin was from Daytona Beach Mainland. Homestead is down past Miami.

No you are thinking of Marquion Lane in the 2013 class. The Lanes are from the Daytona area

  • Thanks JC....does recruiting and offers play into your player evaluations and rankings at all? I ask this because Nick Glass in particular has a more impressive offer list than many in this Top 25. I think Glass has over 20 offers already from major programs.(I know he is a early commit to UGA but coaches still all over him as they should be with 2 years left in recruiting). Just curious.

Tre Williams should be right there 25-30. Clark could pop into the 247- we need to see his film to determine where exactly but he's got an outstanding rep.
