Tyler Luatu from California. His brother is already on our team.

A little early to be throwing around OOS locks. When is the last time you guys pulled a big recruit out of California?

Usually I would agree with Bama does not recruit well in Cali , but the younger Lautua was interviewed and alluded to wanting to play with his brother at Bama .

When was the last time there was a big recruit from Cali who had a brother at Alabama?

    This is a unique situation.

Both of those guys (Yearby, Jacob McCrary) will be highly rated.

I'm a huge fan of McCrary. May be the most natural WR I've seen in person in the 2014 class so far.

    Co-sign on the McCrary love.

Talking about a prospect another poster brought up ... Tre' Williams is a fantastic athlete, but his instincts are so impressive. He has the size and skill set to play inside or outside 'backer (scheme pending), but he sees and reacts so well, too.

Where would you rank Landon Collins little brother at this time?

Gerald Willis- just inside the top 50 or close to it.

  • Exactly I cant remember one, but I'm not claiming an early OOS lock from 2014. I understand the brother thing, but that doesn't always work out. See Andrus Peat.

Where would you say Yearby would be ranked? I've heard claims that he is as good as Sony... Also how would you rate Jacob McCrary read he was the best WR in SFL for 2014.

Yearby is probably Top 50 ish in the country. We like him. He was on our 2014 All-American Team and was our 2014 Offensive Player of the Year. Obviously, we don't think he's a better prospect than Michel but the difference between the two is minimal.

McCrary is an excellent slot receiver prospect and will likely be inside the top 75 in the country. He's outstanding. But again, Lane to us is the top 2014 WR prospect in South Florida seeing as how he's from Homestead and we ranked him as the No. 1 receiver prospect in the country for 2014.

He's named us his leader and has said he wants to play with his brother again. Anything is possible in recruiting but at this point to say we feel good about him would be an understatement.

I wouldn't say lock, but he is a lean at this point. I'm sure an in-state offer from SC would make this an interesting recruitment.

His brother signed with Bama without ever visiting the school. If he did that, then I'm confident we'll land this guy too.

Or Stanford and Cal. I don't know about his grades but those schools can really sell post football life in CA, as well as putting guys into the leage as well as anyone in Cal. All I'm saying is there is a long ways to go and a lean isn't a lock.

If his brother is a walk on he didn't sign anywhere.

No, his brother is an OL on scholarship that will be our backup guard this season.

You're right my bad I thought I saw he was a walk on ITT.

Regardless it's going to be a long battle for Saban with schools he didn't have to deal with in the brother's recruitment.

  • Where would you rank George Panos (UW committ), Jaden Gault, and Brandon Hines from Wisconsin?

I realize they probably aren't top 100 guys, but I'm wondering if they are 4* caliber players at least.

  • Wow LSU's class is going to be insane. We have four in the Top 25 who we probably lead for at this point.

I know Panos is up there, top 100-200 range- there's a DT up in Wisconsin we really like, too.

Coach ain't scared. For real though, It will be a good battle of SC and Stanford get on him, but i like our chances because of his brother at this time.

  • How is Hoza Scott not in the top 25? Kid basically has offers from Bama, LSU, and Texas.

Oh yea, he's an A&M lean. Solomon Thomas (top 25) is a longhorn lean.

How does someone "basically" have offers from three schools? He only has a TAMU offer.

Bama offers kids all the time. Doesn't mean they are commitable offers though. You never know.

Mack Brown pulls the "if you commit you have an offer" routine. Quite common.
