    2013 Lineup : Hangout Music Fest

    The Hangout Music Festival is the first and only festival of it’s kind. Located directly on white sandy beaches surrounded by palm trees, the festival treats guests to a unique festival experience and consistently features a diverse selection of top touring artists. We are excited to announce that the 3rd annual Hangout Music Festival will take place on May 18th, 19th 20th, 2012 on the white sandy beaches of Gulf Shores.

  • Not everybody all at once...

    The afternoon/early evening bands are really solid, but the headliners are a joke. Tom Petty twenty five years ago then cool, but he was atrocious at the Super bowl a few years ago and he hasn't gotten any younger. As for Kings of Leon, I've seen them once. Honest to god one of if not the worst live shows I've ever attended. I would rather listen to a Te'o/Lennay phone conversation for two hours than see them again.

    To go from Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, & Dave Matthews Band in 2012, from Tom Petty, Kings of Leon, and then a final unannounced artist in 2013, is nothing short of laughable.

  • I imagine they'll announce more acts and of course a third headliner. Short of getting Prince, Paul McCartney etc. , I don't really know what to say.

  • Meh...pretty weak so far. Maybe the third headliner will save the card but nothing there note worthy other than slightly stoopid. Last years was better IMO.

    edit: I wouldn't mind seeing Top Petty either but would only be going for the atmosphere with that line up.

    Agreed, although at this point I'd only see McCartney just to say that I had. He was garbage at the Olympics. He couldn't carry a tune to Hey Jude for fvck's sake & forgot half of the words it seemed like.

    He'll probably be at Roo. I also would enjoy just being able to say I've seen him too. The show? Meh.

    Same thing with Bob Dylan. I saw him my senior year of high school in '06 in Bham. Thankfully he had switched to the piano by then and gave up the guitar. It was still a good show but more than anything I'm just glad I got to see him in concert.

    Still has potential with some more additions to come, but ATM weaker than previous years and weaker than many other fests.

    The scenery (females) is off the charts. Where do you live in Perdido? We always stay at my pledge brother's place at Windward near FloraBama.

    Flips are meh for me. They get old. I've seen them three times and it got worse each time.

    I like listening to studio stuff though.

    Yeah like I said the Dark Side album cover was great. On the beach too as the sun was going down it was just a perfect setting. That's another con on Tom petty for me...he just doesn't fit this type of festival at all IMO.

    RHCP definitely stole it last year, but my favorite show was Steve Winwood on Sunday. It was earlier in the day, at the smallest main stage on the beach with a pretty intimate/ smaller crowd. Great stuff

    I live by the lost key golf course. Its only a couple of minutes from where you stay at windward. We party at florabama and gulf shores often.
