The Blue Board

From all of us here at 247Sports, thank you for supporting our network and providing the feedback we need to take this to another level. We hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season & comes back ready to spend another exciting recruiting season and National Signing Day with us.

We're really fortunate to have your support and we hope build upon that support in 2013. Things have been very busy at 247Sports the past few months as we continue to broaden our coverage, set traffic and user records, prep for NSD 2013 & finish the next section of our rewrite (user section).

Before I go on, I just want to thank the user mods that run this place and keep things so that you want to come back each day. I know I've stepped away from this board a bit & have let the recruiting guys take over, but I still see the hard work our mods put into this every day and am thankful for them.

Now for a quick update ... We are planning on pushing our user rewrite next week, which means only message boards are left. We will begin the process of rewriting message board around NSD. In the meantime, we will continue to add additional features to the recruiting database like we have this year. For instance, we're hoping to get a prospect rankings history in before Signing Day. We just added another back-end developer to aid in the completion of new products and will also hire another front-end in early January. Technology will be a major focus again in 2013. We intend on making several new products and updating our boards (finally... I know) to take everything to a different, but improved level.

JC's team, Lucky & Pat will continue to work hard on improving the recruiting coverage and number of markets we support. We've added a lot of new talent (Meyer, Perroni, Niebuhr, Lichtenfels, the list goes on) & added or invested in several markets (LSU, Louisville, Pitt, Texas Tech...). We continue to seek partners and are beginning to get more meaningful and legitimate inquiries from sites that want to be a part of 247Sports.

Just a few more quick notes ... this year we've served more than 18 million unique users and served 3/4's of a billion page views. Both those numbers crush last year's totals. Our December traffic is already well ahead of last year's January traffic (which was our largest month ever) ... things should be fun in January and beyond. I'll do my best to make it happen. Just so you know, as I type this, I'm looking out to an office filled with a small, but dedicated team working their butts off to get things done for you. I believe we have the team to make this place special, and am very happy that we have you to come along with us for the ride.
