I work at a recently opened post-secondary school (cosmetology school) as Director of Admissions. We still don't have financial aid, and this shit isn't going to help.

The f&cked up thing is the President and his team feel they must create havoc and fear so loudly, and try to implement sequester in such a malicious fashion - that the public will blame Republicans, who will then cancel all of the $85 billion in sequester cuts. That's not all - Obama said he will not even sign a bill canceling these cuts, or letting him do less harm - unless Republicans agree to raise taxes again - he calls this a "balanced" approach to deficit cutting - but his fiscal bill in January was all tax increases and no spending cuts.

This is Obama's "bang bang" approach to his selfish agenda - the Reps are saying F&ck off and he will chose to let Americans suffer to win at all cost for his party agenda.

Problem is, "Well, bye" will eventually turn into much higher crime rates and social disruption in varying degrees. No simple answer, but survival of the fittest certainly isn't the solution. Too much of it as it is.

And can I add, that I agree with you. But people that are already unmotivated and unskilled, won't be changing over night, not how humans work.

It's not, and comment was addressing the survival of the fittest remark. If you don't know anything about behavior, you should read with more objectivity and less pathos.

The pubs got cuts & pres got more revenue. Now both need to get together and fix the economy. There is so much stupid in wash. Grow the economy & the pres will get more revenue and the pubs will get smaller govt. But no, lets just keep seeing who can bullsht the american people the most. I am tired of hearing the azzes on both sides talking about what the american people want. I am pretty sure we all want a strong economy. So that should be the main focus. Many other problems will take care of themselves with some actual economic growth to be proud of as opposed to very little growth that can spun into some incredible recovery by which ever dishonest politician speaks next.

GDP involves govt spending as one of it's elements. So, cutting govt spending is like trying to dig out of a hole by digging out the bottom.

Now, USG spending (specifically DoD spending) needs trimming. People point that our defense spending more than several countries combined. Yes, well, most countries do not do half of the "humanitarian" works that we HAVE to do as directed by POTUS and those countries do not endure NEAR the amount of every.day. threats that we have to counter. Furthermore, our DoD has to execute many contracts for our Foreign Allies as those countries cannot have direct transactions with U.S. companies. U.S. defense contractors are the best in the world and other countries know it. U.S. DoD has to budget the Foreign Military items just as their own expenses and get reimbursed by the Foreign Ally.

I work for DoD and would gladly take a 20% salary hit if I thought it would help our fiscal posture. However, this will now. This is the perfect political sh!tstorm: both sides want to blame the other for the actions that their NON-action brought to be. Both Rep and Dems are so ignorant as to not allow any discussion of the actual needed changes and allow cuts by default. IF this helps the budget position, then they will all say they wanted this. If this does not help the budget position that each side will jus blame the other side. It's the perfect clusterf*ck of politics.

No one will truly learn from this. We will continue to elect these politicians who are detached from reality and they will continue to work with their own personal and party interests over what is best for our country. The POTUS (regardless of party) will likewise follow suit of the Congress and do things that cause us to shake our heads and wonder why ANYONE voted for THAT guy. It's a system in need of serious repair.

We need to do Congress like a jury selection system. Every selected person should be required to perform his/her duty in the Congress--and do so with no salary from USG. The salary should be derived from their current status/place of work.

POTUS and VPOTUS should each come from a different party in alternating terms. (4yrs Dem and 4 yr REP, then vice versa). POTUS should deal with international issues and VP should deal with domestic issues.

My thoughts aren't perfect and could use some refinement, but we have to move BEYOND this incredibly inept system we currently have.
