"President Obama has long shown a propensity to be good at only one thing: the self-promotion of Barack Obama. He has not been good at governance. He has not been good at getting other Democrats elected. He has been a terrible negotiator. He failed to see what was happening in the party opposite. He structured a deal that made sequestration the law of the land without a literal act of congress to stop it." - Eric Erickson.
Obama's Scare Tactic: "The impact of the cuts won't immediately be felt, but middle class families will begin to have their lives disrupted in significant ways. "As long as the cuts stay in effect, Americans will know that the economy could have been better had they been averted."
"The pain, though, will be real," Obama said.
BTW - Sequestration was his derived plan to get re-elected

I can't believe I'm going to somewhat agree with you, but I would not be opposed to this. The entire foundation of the American political system is compromise, and the people who hold the entire country hostage for their own selfish agendas shouldn't be rewarded for doing so. (Naturally, anyone who reads that sentence will have different ideas about who's doing the hostage-taking, but trust me when I say that I mean that sentence to apply to every American politician.)
So many members of Congress are already millionaires - the truly patriotic thing to do would be to forgo salaries for the benefit of the country, but nobody's about to do that.

Problem is, "Well, bye" will eventually turn into much higher crime rates and social disruption in varying degrees. No simple answer, but survival of the fittest certainly isn't the solution. Too much of it as it is.
And can I add, that I agree with you. But people that are already unmotivated and unskilled, won't be changing over night, not how humans work.

3% is the amount being cut from spending GROWTH 3 freakin percent. And we will still be spending more each year than the previous year. Your statement is ridiculous.
Everything will be just fine.

The pubs got cuts & pres got more revenue. Now both need to get together and fix the economy. There is so much stupid in wash. Grow the economy & the pres will get more revenue and the pubs will get smaller govt. But no, lets just keep seeing who can bullsht the american people the most. I am tired of hearing the azzes on both sides talking about what the american people want. I am pretty sure we all want a strong economy. So that should be the main focus. Many other problems will take care of themselves with some actual economic growth to be proud of as opposed to very little growth that can spun into some incredible recovery by which ever dishonest politician speaks next.
