Harris Is Top Soph At Army Combine

Berea (KY) Madison Southern RB Damien Harris was the top 2015 in San Antonio on Friday. He talks about his leader Michigan and number two school Ohio State among other topics.

  • "Then towards the end, I kind of started rooting for Ohio State.” That is the line right there

  • He'll go blue when the time comes.

I want to make it known that Steve Lorenz (Tremendous) is the reason my trial month became a permanent membership. Smart move 247.

"He favors Michigan with Ohio State running number two early in the process."

I would say that is the line right there.

  • Following the combine, Harris got in contact with the coaching staffs at both Michigan and Ohio State.

Mike Hart could be Michigan's next RB coach, it's either going to be him or Wheatley.

Rumors a few years ago suggested that Fred Jackson would retire when his son (Jeremy Jackson) graduated from Michigan.

EDIT: Legitimately concerns me that Borges is the one recruiting him. I'd love for one of our top recruiters to be on him instead. IMO a must get.

  • Not that it matters, but with him being from Kentucky it just made me think of it.

The last great Kentucky HS RB that had hype like this had Michigan as his leader as well until a last minute trip to Alabama. Shaun Alexander made a January official visit with his mom to Ann Arbor and got stuck in a snow storm. 2 weeks later, he made a trip to Alabama and it was unseasonably warm for even Tuscaloosa in the mid 60s. He decided he would hate for his mother to get stuck in a snow storm coming to visit or see him in a November game and picked Alabama instead.

Not saying Alabama has a chance at this kid, but you don't see many top RBs in Kentucky and he just made me think about that story.

    Carry on!

  • Last great KY RB was Michael Bush

Remember a kid that was USA Today POTY I believe Tony Driver. Unfortunately for him he came to ND about the time Davie took over and was moved around his first few years. Ended up at safety and pretty good. If he had stayed at RB he'd have had better NFL career IMO. Wow just googled and he was arrested for something.

Well, I did not know that whatsoever, always love hearing these stories from recruiting that happened before I started paying attention.

    Thanks for sharing BetterOff, +1.
