Harsh words for the Sugar Bowl Committee

  • ClitEasyBound said...

You really think BS would get higher ratings than VT? That's just funny.

What do you think is more important to the Sugar Bowl Committee? Selling tickets and hotel rooms to this game, or the potential ratings differences between Boise and VT?

Ever considered getting on a political message board? What about fishing? Maybe those topics would be better for you. Use your imagination, but it's safe to say you're in the wrong place now.

I'm sorry if you are a VT fan, but why do you think almost EVERYONE is saying it is ridiculous VT is in that bowl. It is because everyone thought K-St or BSU should have gone.

The perception Is what it is, bro.

Hearing you describe your high rolling life of luxury is seriously the funniest thing you've contributed to this board albeit unintentional. lol

    You sure it's unintentional?

Both matter because it's all about the money and as a result, we get a better match up than those pussies in Idaho could ever give us. They should aspire to play in the Potato Bowl and nothing more.

Boise's last 2 BCS bowl games have higher ratings than any of VT's last 3 BCS bowl games.

    Not funny?

No one who actually is a college football fan is saying BS should have been the selection.

Lol that is kinda funny. Virginia Tech sucks ass. They played a terrible schedule, and got smoked twice by friggin Clemson. I think other teams got shafted, by VT seems like a good opponent for a Michigan victory. Won't find me or any reasonable Wolverine fan complaining.

VT went to the Orange Bowl last year.

VT also lost at home to Boise last year.

  • Who cares? VT is a legitimate football program. BS is not. They deserve to be left at home. No real fan want to see them in a big bowl. You arguing they should be in just proves you don't give a shit about the sport.

Not sure why VT is legit and Boise is not? The only difference is, VT's shitty conference somehow has an automatic tie in. VT has dominated a terrible division for years now, WVU isn't legit because they dominate the Big LEast neither are the Hokies for dominating the ACC.

Boise barely can be said to dominate some conference I can't even name. Don't try to put them on the same level as VT and WVU. Those are two shit programs, sure, but they're real football programs, unlike BS and their entire conference. If you wanted to say they're on the same level as, say, South Florida I'd still disagree, but we could at least have a conversation about it. Putting them in the same category as VT and WVU is just retarded.

I dunno. Boise St. with Kellen Moore is about as legit as they come IMO. After he's gone might be a different story.

Never mind. Maybe if you want to say they're on Florida International's level, we can talk. I figured they had more than 3 quality wins IN THEIR ENTIRE HISTORY. Guess I was giving them too much credit before. They really are worse than shit.

  • I think it's a simple fact that VT doesn't 'deserve' a BCS bowl in the sense that their ranking was too high. They finished ranked above Clemson - who blew them out twice including a few days ago so no excuse for the media to have "forgotten" about it. It's just the sort of idiocy that results from conventional poll voting arithmetics (i.e. VT has to be above Clemson because Clemson has 3 losses, VT has 2 losses).

At the same time I don't get why people rip VT but seem keen on KSU. Kansas State scored one touchdown against Eastern Kentucky which they scored with 2 minutes left to win that game by the score of 10-7. At least VT beat their FCS opponent with ease. Kansas State got pounded by OU worse than VT got pounded by Clemson and OU isn't exactly fantastic this year either. In fact, if you look at KSU's year, they had two convincing wins, one over Kent State (5-7 MAC team) and one over Kansas (2-10 and one of the worst AQ teams this year), everything else was by a TD or less. Not to take away from Bill Snyder, the man is a genius, KSU has no business being a top 25 team normally yet they are pretty good - but a team you would consider a must invite for a BCS bowl? Uh no...

Now about Boise State, they move from the weak sauce WAC to the slightly less weak sauce MWC which had lost two of its top programs in Utah and BYU but still had one worthy competitor in TCU left and BSU promptly lost at home to them, whoops. Strength of schedule? BSU even worse than VT and that's probably giving them too much credit for beating an overrated Georgia.

Let's be real here, this was a down year for college football, maybe the last few years have been down years. USC hampered by sanctions, OU a bit down, Texas and OSU very much down, Florida down, old powerhouses like Michigan, FSU, ND, Miami, Penn St. or Nebraska not bad now but also not where they could be, teams that once played for NCs like Tennessee or Washington in the wilderness..thats why we got a rematch in the title game, thats why we got such a muddled bowl picture.

Congratulations. My point still stands. Your board is littered with butthurt Sparty's who are mad that yet again Michigan gets more exposure then you guys. Every other thread is Sugar Bowl this, scum that. The only person more butthurt than your fans is your dickhole coach who at every presser says something douchy and tries to take subtle digs at Michigan.

Get over your butthurt feelings, win a big game, and stop worrying about Michigan. Clearly you guys have your own problems to worry about.

Win a big game? lol Were butt hurt? Read your own post buddy.

What two teams in the big ten have won the most games the past four years? Michigan State and Ohio State. There probably wasn't one big game in there, you're right.

4 in a row eat shit

  • I could care less about this year's match-up but I didn't care when they played in the regular season either.
