The judge ordered the trial postponed as he found the jury pool tainted. No kidding. A fair jury in Lee county? UpDyke continues to dominate his opponent 365 days a year. Another interesting note: Alabama's little known statute about treeocide:
Alabama Code Section 35-14-1 - Generally; when owner of trees deemed owner of land; joinder actions.
(a) Any person who cuts down, deadens, girdles, boxes, destroys or takes away, if already cut down or fallen, any cypress, pecan, oak, pine, cedar, poplar, walnut, hickory or wild cherry tree, or sapling of that kind, on land not his own, wilfully and knowingly, without the consent of the owner of the land, must pay to the owner $20.00 for every such tree or sapling; and for every other tree or sapling, not hereinbefore described, so cut down, deadened, girdled, boxed, destroyed or taken away by any person, he must pay to such owner the sum of $10.00.

The craziest thing about Updyke dominating is he has confessed twice on the radio and outside the courtroom to a reporter this week. Attorney's drop him cause he can't shut up and he'll still walk. Not even OJ can touch that. Of course, those toilet paper trees are probably of more value than Ronald Goldman.

One might argue that the actual street corner and tradition of rolling the trees after games is historical, but the actual trees don't appear to be valued (since you are throwing trash on them an all).
