began the season ranked preseason top 3 and finished the season with a losing record?
In 2000, Alabama was preseason #3 and finished 3-8!
USC's 7-6 season was bad enough, I can't imagine what a collapse like 3-8 must have been like for Alabama. That's horrible.
Any other school roll over like the Tide's embarrassing 3-8 season or is Alabama's 2000 season the worst on record all-time for a team that started ranked top 3?

3 out of 4 NC, even during USC's run which included cheating and giving back a Heisman, 3 out of 4 was not attainable.

Besides, they moved SC out of the 1 spot after a 49-10 win anyway, so they were just like a 2 or 3 like Bama in 2000.
Hey at least Bama matched their preseason ranking with 3 wins.
