Haslam willing to give Saban 12 million and total control

I agree with everything except that Andy Reid walked on water. I don't remember one year where he wasn't harshly criticized. Philly is a tough town.

In Philly maybe, but as far as he was looked at by the masses, he was thought of as highly as anyone in the game at times.

Philly fans just can't be happy with anything.

Pennsylvania (especially in the East) is home to some of the greatest college fans in the country. Penn St (more central I know) for one. Temple, Nova, and St. Joe's basketball.

For some reason though, they turn into angry hooligans when it comes to professional sports though.

I've seen Penn State play Alabama 13 times. 6 of those were in Happy Valley. I have also been there to see Penn State play Michigan.

    Is that enough times?

Some of the greatest fans and people that I have ever been around at a football game. Always have a lot of fun with their fans and many of them have become lifelong friends.

Maybe they just come out of the wood work for tOSU games then, idk. Its a close head to head between worse fans between them and Wisky if you ask any buckeye fan.

I got my Master's at Wisconsin, but that was almost 2 decades ago. I have been back a couple of times. Love Madison, but I can agree with you a little bit about the fans there. They weren't bad when I was there, but since Alvarez built them up, they did seem more obnoxious when I went back.

That's to be expected though. Kids that have been getting beat their entire life finally get a chance here and there to throw it in someone's face and they're going to take their shot while they can.

Florida fans were the same way in the 90s. Now, they are for the most part a great group of fans.

  • If I am an agent to anyone other than Saban, I want my client interviewing with Cleveland RIGhT NoW! Dumb move to establish a market price without even getting a sniff from Saban.

Haslam is a Tennessee guy, right?

Well, I think there is no love/attachment to pro teams like there is college. I think that most Philly fans think like I do... pro teams have one priority and that is to win championships. I have seen enough of Andy Reid to know that he has a good offensive mind, and he is good with players, but he has some real issues. Defense he is clueless. He abandons the running game. His game management skills are horrible. He is loyal to a fault. Those are my and other Eagles fans annual criticisms of the coach. And it pretty much has been the same story for years and years.

If he gets a good DC to take care of that side of the ball, he is a very good coach. But that DC is going to have to be like a mini-HC/GM.

What is so appealing about Saban?? That's more $$$$ than Peyton, Shanahan, Belichick, for a guy who hasn't proved anything. Meanwhile Lovie and Wisenhunt are unemployed

True, but they are obviously not hiring him for his NFL resume, but rather for his NFL potential...based on his college resume. It is a huge risk because many college coaches don't make the transition and his first attempt got a grade of incomplete. It could wind up being a great move or just another great college coach who was not made for the pros.

One thing many fail to realize there is a big difference between coaching in college and in the pros. In college there is no draft. You can gather the best talent on your team. You can have a much more talented team than your opponents. In the pros, the draft and free agency make for a level playing field.

Wisky fans are some of the worse fans in the NCAA. Correction- Wisky fans under the age of 30 are the worse fans in the NCAA. Anyone older than that remembers when Wisconsin was horrible and are humble and grateful. That said I wish the Browns would go after Lovie Smith. He'd be loved in Cleveland for what he did in Chicago.

2 of the games against Penn St were just in the last few years. The Michigan/Penn St game I went to was in '99.
