lol It's not like Manziel played scrub defenses each week, watch some tape, he's not just a system player, I'm sure you can ask any Bama fan and you'll get your answer.

He played 3 good defenses and lost to two of them. In those two losses he played bad in one and average at best in the other. His big win against Bama is what has every Bama fan claiming Manziel is the best. Those same Bama fans were trying to tell us how great McCarron is just 2 weeks ago. He is definitely a stud, but not the best player in the country this year.

Or, how 'bout Manti Teo? Leader of the #1 scoring defense and #1 team in the land?

While I truly believe it's a travesty that defensive guys never win it, I must point out that a linebacker isn't breaking the cycle anytime soon. I don't know if he's the best defensive guy or not, but it doesn't matter.

It's statistically impossible that the best player in football has NEVER been a full time defensive player. It's a real shame.

Manziel has grown up since those earlier games. The difference between winning and losing for them this year has been turnovers or not. I don't really care who gets it this year, but he's at least as deserving as most of the system stats guys our there.

LSU was the 8th game of the season. Hardly an "early game".

This topic is about Heisman.... so that's what most people are talking about.

In all seriousness, QB touches the ball on every play.

If you want to dedicate it all to the system then you havent been watching Manziel play all season. The system itself gives you a QB with a bunch of passing yards and marginal record. Manziel leads the SEC in rushing the ball and isnt far behind in passing it.

You're delusional if you think you could plug in another QB, play the same schedule we have, and still get the same production in both stats and wins.

Manziel has broke the 40 year old SEC record for total offense in a game....twice. Something neither Cam nor Tebow could do and few would argue they shouldnt have won the heisman.

And how many top defenses has you're candidate faced?

The florida game was the first game of his college career and the teams first game with a new head coach/system on both sides of the ball. Obviously he's improved since then and the offense has continued to improve around him.
