Here's what we got:
Tee is in Knoxville with family (children and wife)
Tee has an offer in hand.
Tee is interviewing with Jones as a formality and it just comes down to contract negotiations. He wants to be here if his contract can be worked out, and Jones promises him enough freedom to gain more knowledge about the offensive side of the ball so he can further his career. From what I've heard, he would rather come back to Knoxville. He has a lot of people that care about him over here. But the opportunity he has in USC is going to be tough to leave. His family loves LA.

We loved Tee, but wish him nothing but the best of luck and happiness. There is no place like home.
We did want to send him back eventually, as a HC for his beloved alma mater, I don't know anyone that wouldn't do the same if the opportunity came along.
Fight On Tee! Hope he will remember us as fondly as we will him.

Congrats if he goes. Hard to turn down the alma mater.
Not sure why he was our WR coach this season but he has his name next to a biletnikoff winner now. Nice boost to the resume. I assume he was more of a recruiting branch into the south than an impact coach for us.
Curious if he can flip any of those instate/local recruits to the Vols. Ramsey and Hatch are montsers.

Thanks, the information from your side seems to be more in-depth than the info from our side.
That, by itself, might be a bad sign.
Still... if he is only going to be a WR coach at Tennessee, he would have to get a substantial bump in pay from his USC $$. He has the top WR in football coming back plus 4-5 guys with a lot of talent. AND the QB next year is a known commodity (to Tee, not to us as fans). At Tennessee, the top 3 WRs might be leaving and the starting QB, plus Tee doesn't have first-hand knowledge of the talent level of the other guys.

Tee isn't the position coach for either recruit, my understanding is Jalen was interested in Vandy, not UT.
Who knows though, we'll find out. We'll get who we're supposed to get, and now more than ever, we need the kids that want to commit to USC, not a particular coach.

We love the guy...and respect the fact he's a proud Vol. We'll continue to show him that love, hopefully he can use this offer by TN to get a fat raise, lol. He'll go back home eventually, with a lot more experience, a firm foothold with ties and exposure to California recruiting.
It was very smart of your new HC to offer a lateral move to Tee...that way he appeased the locals by offering a Vol great, and doesn't lose in the eyes of his new fanbase if Tee turns down the job. He can then get who he really wants to coach at that position. Win/win for Coach Jones.
