Seth Curry is mega clutch though. Single-handily kept Duke in the game at the end there.

In before bandwagon fan claims come down, but I've been to more Duke basketball games than I have Alabama basketball games and I have more family members who have attended Duke than Alabama. Been following them since 1996.

I hate that crap. It should be alma mater and nothing else. I grew up going to Texas football and basketball games with my dad but I hate them now. I go to Alabama. That is my one and only team in all sports. You should not be allowed to hang on to childhood favorite teams unless you go to community college or something.

Well obviously you don't, because you break the rule. It should seriously be written in stone. There is nothing more aggravating in all of sports. I have more respect for a broke redneck who never went to college that cheers for a school than I do for someone who went to a University with respectable athletics that still cheers for another school. That's what pro teams are for.

If it's a school with decent athletics - absolutely. Have some freakin pride in your school. Again, it's one thing if you go to NYU or a community college or someplace where athletics just aren't a point of emphasis. You spend 4+ years at your alma mater. You paid money into the system. It is YOUR SCHOOL. That means so much more than "oh yeah grandma and dad and my cousin went there and we used to go to games".

My alma mater has below average athletics but I never missed a basketball game, hell I went to the basketball games when I was still in HS. If you think 4 years of my time or 9700 dollars makes up for a lifetime of loyalty then you sir have the pride/heart issue..not bama and I.

It's about having pride in something you were actually a part of. Your parents went to school X and you grew up rooting for them? Your parents are part of that community. You aren't and never will be. You weren't a part of that. Again, that's what pro teams are for. College teams are for people who went to that college OR people who didn't go to school at all / went to school with no sports but grew up in the region.
