Not to extradite you, but you sir, are the most reasonable Bama fan in this thread.

He's only saying what most bama fans have been trying to get through to people like you for years. Why do you waste soooo much time on a subject you are so uneducated about? And then you try to act all holier than thou. There is nothing wrong with grey shirts when they are made aware. They have other options. I guess it just pisses you off that someone would rather wait to play at Bama than start right away at MSU.

Blows but they arent telling him to take a hike. They're having him delay enrollment for a semester, rehab his knee, and then come in for spring ball.

Yep, and if recent history is any indication, the kid was informed some time ago that greyshirting would be a possibility depending on how the numbers shook out. Should've done the humanitarian thing and just pulled his offer, IMO.

Again, he injured his knee after he committed and he is still getting full athletic scholarship to UA. He is about the 5th player that we have brought in after a major leg/knee injury in high school in the past 3 classes.

If he wants to look elsewhere, then fine. He has plenty of time to do so prior to NSD or fall enrollment.

BTW, as I said in my initial post, we've had multiple starters who enrolled late. John Parker Wilson, Travis McCall, Drew Davis, and a few other contributors since CNS has been here did so for various reasons. We've had a few other contributors who committed as grayshirts, but were brought in earlier due to numbers sorting themselves out, like William Vlachos.

As much as the AJC wants to make CNS out to be the boogeyman, once again he's playing clearly within the boundaries of the rules and there are other SEC coaches who have done worse in the last couple of years.

I think the kid doesn't have a problem because he doesn't really realize what is going on here yet. When it dawns on him finally that he will never go to Bama, he is gonna be pissed.

BTW, so the "Kirby RAID!!!!" this year consists of one solid OT, one solid LB, a drastically overrated CB and a slot WR/scatback? Wow, Bama really does just have their way in GA...

You know he doesn't realize it. He was their 7th commit for this class but Saban has him convinced that he is number 26. He is not eve following their recruiting apparenlty.."I guess they went out an picked up an extra player" He doesn't even seem aware of TJ Yeldon. facepalm_msu

    No.

Full athletic scholarship = full athletic scholarship. The guy is getting the EXACT same thing, only he has to wait one semester longer for it. I don't necessarily like it, because I think the guy misses out on getting to come in with his class and would prefer he had that shot. However, he's not getting "screwed" as people would like to suggest.

I can see how you are a pastor with your ability to spin logic.

Do you know how Harvard offers athletic schollies? They offer you either a full or partial scholly, but what they really do is set you up with a "job" that will pay the same as the scholarship that is offered. On top of that, they expect you (or your parents) to make a substantial donation every year.

I don't spin logic...I don't talk about your personal life either. You should do the same and stop trying to be cute.

I don't think he is getting screwed, but i don't think this kid ever sees the UA campus unless he buys a ticket. He hurt his knee and Saban is unsure about his health. No biggie. He is a three star RB. UA just picked up TJ and wil get another 4 or 5 * next year. Kid doesn't have a chance. Why else would a kid who was the 7th commit in this class in May be told he is number 26? Just cut him lose so he can go to another school. He is holding out hope he can play for Bama, which you can't blame, but you and I both know that it is not going to happen.

HE DOESNT HAVE ANY OTHER OFFERS. All the other schools stopped recruiting him once he tore his ACL, Bama keep him in the fold however. That's why the kid is OK with it. He's not even paying for school, he gets a job, gets to rehab during a semester he would be rehabbing anyways if he was on scholarship, all the while he will get to keep 5 years to play 4 + a medical year if needed. If he were to come in with this class, his redshirt would be burned rather wastefully since he can't do anything but rehab anyways.

We are mad because we can't do it yet...soon we will start "processing" but I don't think we will ever greyshirt or pull a kid's scholly for another kid if he has been committed for that long

First off, you're the one bringing your personal life to the board. Maybe change to "john" if that's off limits.

yeah I don't blame him, just wish he would tell a kid that he isn't a top priority so he wouldn't have lost all his other offers...idk how good the kid is but there has to be other schools that still want him, just maybe not the SEC
