    No I'm an engineer and it takes from 8-12 hrs to go 234 miles.

    Oh. Duh. Wow.

    Funny story - my best friend in college is a comp sci engineer. To mess with him, I trained his little cousin to constantly ask him how he "likes his 'choo-choo' job." He couldn't come up with a reasonable way to explain the other type of engineer to his cousin, so he just let the kid go on believing that he drove a train rather than sat in a cubicle all day.

  • 65 miles each way for me, all highway though. Takes me about 53 minutes in the morning and about 70 minutes in the afternoon. I have been doing this for 13 years and at the first of the year I start a new job that is 2 miles away and 5 minutes from my home. Talk about a change.
