My dad and my brother are pain mgmt docs. I use to suffer from insane Pain but had a surgery and since then I've been great. I still have the occasional pain but nothing like it was. Be careful with the meds you take. They can make it worse. What do they have you on?

I take two lyrica and three hydrocodone daily. Those two help a lot. The doctors keep telling me that it can take up to a year for the nerves to fully heal in my leg, I just find it odd that after two outpatient surgeries I feel very little difference. I admit I need to ice my back more as well walk more to help align the spine but I do it as much as I can.

I had an L5-s1 disc rupture. Sucked big time. Crazy pain. Being in sales and sitting in the car all day didn't help. The Neurosurgeon prescribed vioxx before it was taken of the market and the pain was gone within a week. I guess I got lucky. I still have issues from time to time but not like before. I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone. Good luck.

I had the L3-L4 then the L4-L5 done a few months later. My specialist says I'm definitely not a candidate for fusion surgery so I'm happy about that of course. I'm actually to the point I think the nerves in my leg itself may be damaged and need direct attention.
I think a inversion table is a good idea. You're the 5th person who's asked me that so it must be a sign I need to seriously look into it.

Well...the efficacy of that procedure has come under fire somewhat...it's become something of a controversial procedure, at least here in South Florida
it may be that you should get further medical consultation, and I would recommend with a good neuro-surgeon

Ruptured disc for 10 yrs from basketball incident, haven't played since but can still play tennis.
Ironically it cured my horrible snoring problem because I now must sleep on my back because of my back.
Haven't had to have surgery yet for the back, but daily minor pain

Red, my dad who is now 73, had shingles on his face and neck. Along with it, came facial myalgia. Horribly painful. This all occurred 2 months ago. Believe it or not - a golf buddy of his recommended he try acupuncture. He did it RELUCTANTLY. Dad's a conservative retired banker with a no non--sense perspective towards ANY new-age methodologies. He had nothing to loose & with that, he tried it. It worked. That's all I can say; It just works. Hope it helps bro.
