    The Marines made a statement that shocked the sh*t out of me.
    "Muslems are porno addicts". "every house we go in to is loaded with it and these are Sunni's the strictest tribes"
    Does this seem hypocritical to anyone else?

  • Hypocritical? Yes. Shocking? No. Research shows that The states with the most Internet porn usage are all conservative states. And it's not even close. I believe Utah is #1, but it's been a while since I've seen the numbers.

    Yep, one of the biggest issues I have with church leadership(I am Mormon). Pornogrpahy is a HUGE issue among LDS men, I swear it is the main topic of discussion at half our meetings. And the women are mind-blowingly naive about sexuality because they are raised(for the most part) to think it is a bad or dirty thing. That is what happens when you hide and repress those topics.

    That's depressing but I don't see it changing in the near future. They don't strike me as the most progressive group.

    Homosexuality is HUGE with them as well. I wouldn't have believed it but every friend of mine that has gone overseas has said the same thing. From more than one friend the consensus that they've been told, "Women are for making babies and men are for fun."

    I can't tell you if it's true or not but I've heard it from several people.

    Edit: I'm speaking of Muslims in Arab countries and not the religion in general.

    I don't think it has anything to do with being progressive, their stance on sexuality is no different than any other religion. Every religion preaches against pre-marital sex and porn, the big difference is that Mormons are generally much more staunch about it. As far as I'm concerned, if you really can't control yourself just have sex, but protect yourself and don't feel guilty about it. There were some major porn issues in my ex-wife's family, particularly with her brother in-laws, and it had some serious effects on her(which sucked for me).

    LDS = Latter Day Saints. Mormons are members of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". You are referring to R(reformed)LDS, which is not associated with the LDS(Mormon church). In fact, most of them are former "Mormons" who were kicked out of the church. Sorry, we only get 1 wife.
