I guess I'm Clemson Fan #3

  • in tBB. Long time reader/lurker. Very impressed with the football knowledge overall and probably more impressed with the trolling.

    I enjoyed watching the back-and-forths this season especially - the NWO meltdown, the Bama faithful, Nova (class by himself), the Michigan guys, the political logorrhoea leading into the election, etc.

    Sorry I missed Devidee - as I've read he's on 'vacation' for a year. Take it easy on a new guy, and I hope to contribute in some way from now on.

    Background - I'm an early 40-something with two daughters and wife who all hate football. I literally hide the remote in my den starting August 1st every year, as I reserve Saturdays for futbaw. I'm a full-time telecommuting guy in the IT field, so I basically browse the internet a lot and say I'm working. I live in South Carolina, but I hate NASCAR. That's probably enough (to get me in trouble with several posters). Oh, I don't hate SCar, but I wouldn't take an autograph from SOS if he offered me one. That said, kudos for beating my Tigers 4 years in a row. We're hoping to change that soon.

    Once he named you guys the leader and had ND in second with us in third. I knew we were getting him.

    These kids and their games. Really I think he just wanted to keep the coach off his back until he enrolled. Who know really though. Just glad we got him because we badly need some playmakers.

    Hoping we can rep the ACC in the opener. It's awful early, but I can smell a Gameday UGA @ Clemson in week 1. It's been a long, dry spell for my guys. Conference is a house of cards - basketball drives our ish. I hate it. Unfortunately, I don't think we can bring the ratings that the SEC wants for any new conf members. We're stuck - right along with the Noles.

  • I was hearing that Mom had the sway - loves UF. More power to you guys.

    Hoping our guys can gel again this season. We lost the best blocker out of the bunch (Jaron Brown). Need to keep Sam away from the bong over the summer. We have a no-name that could blossom - Charone Peake. He has the fastest 40 time on the team, so breakaway speed is there. Not sure how he can juke - he doesn't catch many passes.

    Ha - that's what I keep hearing Ed. We might have to resort to mace on the left side of the OL this time around.

    Good kid and incredible, once in a lifetime athlete. You guys must have swayed him back on the recruiting trail with all those 'skyscrapers' in Cola. Country come to town, and all that.

    I'm just happy your headhunter is gone this year (Swearinger). That kid was a dik, I mean roughneck.

    Since you are 40 something and a man you have to know that Georgia pounding Clemson like a two dollar whore is typical in the series.

    This was a HUGE rivalry in the 80s. I'm hoping we can extend this home and home past 2 meetings. I was there in 87.

    And yep - I do recall the all-time record. There's a few of us spamming S&C guy for Clemson already (J Batson) - 'work those mf'ers hard.....we need a win in week 1'.

    He did something right for the bowl game. Not sure if it was different technique or if the staff just starved the defense all week -

    Dude, I can't believe y'all haven't figured out that Willie is a mole sent by Greg McGarity to destroy UF from within.

    Also, Greg stole the blueprint for success when he left G-Ville. In case you haven't noticed, Florida's recent troubles just happen to coincide with his departure.

    I was born in Augusta - family from Hartwell....so I've been up in Dawg country many a time.

    I respect your cold shoulder though, sir. You guys are going down on 8/31 peace .

    Just national stage man - you never hear a commentator correctly call his name. None of them know he's the speedster on the team, etc.

    I agree - he was a monster in HS. Played alongside our other quiet guy, Adam Humphries.

    I have a soft spot for Blue. I work with a bunch of guys who sit in an office in Troy. They all have Lion-itis. I keep telling them - 'just go 2-14 this coming year and you can draft Clowney' biggrin .

    Now, see I'm warming to the GeorgiaBoy....it will forever and always be Clark's Hill. Not this stupid crap that was passed down on this side of the border - Lake Thurmond. Nuh uh.

    I remember many, many, MANY a day draining beers at West Dam. Many a day making the run to Pollard's Corner for some BBQ.
