    No, the OP made a good point. There are many things that are used to kill people more often than guns, but for some reason liberals tend to blame the tool in the case of the gun, vice putting the blame where it belongs (the person using the tool irresponsibly). Granted gravity is not man made, but hammers, cars and drugs are.

    I have no desire for the gov't to start jacking with the constitution. I'm a Republican, albeit an moderate one. But I just can't see the need for people to own military grade weapons. Of the proposals I saw come from Obama, I don't really have a problem with any of them.

    I would agree with your statement as well, from what i read, it was specific to assault weapons. but...the slippery slope here is this.

    in the end, they will get all the guns - this is just the beginning and it's this idea (agreement) that starts it all.

    while i think it's silly for a citizen to own an assault weapon i have no right telling someone they can't own one either. it IS THEIR RIGHT. once they start taking that away ( you know your rights per the constitution), the rest fall into place too. people will scoff at this today and say "no way they'll take our freedoms away)

    but 20 years ago, if someone told you the President was going to ban weapons, you'd laugh too....that day has arrived people. wake up.

    Btw, just for knowledge. The only similarities between "assault rifles" and military rifles and looks and caliber.

    And Assault Rifles are FULLY AUTO.

    I use a .223 (the standard AR15, M16/military rifle round) to hunt Coyote, as well to just shooting in general... I enjoy shooting, who is (insert name) to tell me I can't do that?
