my guess is that most of the players at Bama would be accepted into ND had they wanted to go there. Don't kid yourself...athletes are a different animal when it comes to acceptance at places like ND. Of course, they are a private school so we will never know publicly.

lol keep telling yourself that. If that were true we'd still have Tee Shepard and would have landed AQM. Wouldn't expect an SEC fan to know about this kind of stuff though. ND can't sign a kid with no shot and stash him away at a JUCO. We don't even recruit JUCO's. We can't tell a FL kid to move to Indiana and his grades will magically appear. We can't tell a Lacy to go to a certain summer school and everything will be ok. As far as jumping off a bridge, come on now. Still lots of work to do to before expectations are that high. Congrats on another NC though Bama.

bottom line is how many great southern ballers want to go to school up north with bad weather and less than stellar females.

I doubt there is a single player on your team that would be accepted to ND without being a football player. If you think that Jimmy Clausen, Michael Floyd, or Golden Tate are somehow superior in intelligence and academically to most of the student athletes at other schools, then you have lost your mind. ND fans are full of excuses as to why they can't compete with the big boys of football anymore. There are some legitimate reasons but hiding behind academics isn't going to fly.

I won't even address your claims regarding Lacy since you have no idea what you are talking about.

roflmaoYou literally don't know shit about your own program. Go back to the Lou Holtz days when you actually won. You will start to notice the standards were much much different. Jesus ND fans are fvcking arrogant for no reason. Typical northerner though. Wouldn't expect anything actually different. Just out of curiosity, did you actually go to ND?

Def AQM would of went to ND but they wouldn't accept him, the main reason why Urban Meyer didn't take the ND job is b/c he wanted the academic standards lowered in writing and they wouldn't do it. Don't kid yourslef man no flame but c'mon I can't even understand half the stuff your players say it's not even English..

  • Trolling from both paries aside, there are extra core curriculum classes that are needed for acceptance(ie extra foreign language) so grades and test scores aren't the issue like most people are assuming. All football players are interviewed separately by the admissions department to kinda judge if a kid could handle the workload, which is where a lot of bama kids would be at risk. We're not Stanford, we don't have the highest admission standards, we're known for having the best tutoring system so if a kid is charismatic and highly motivated than admissions will accept them.

Yup, pretty sure Floyd scored less than a 13 on his ACT. Double that and you're still unlikely to get in as a regular student at ND, so to say ND isn't giving much leeway academically to athletes is wrong.

Also, to the guy who said Notre Dame should lower their academic expectations of incoming athletes; yeah, I'm sure a top-25 university would love to jeopardize its prestige, so the football team could possibly become a little better...not.

I think ND has to lower their academic standards to compete with the SEC, how many ppl on Alabama's roster could get into ND? I would say the number is really small..

do you remember the lou holtz era? i have friends on that team...they're dumb as a box of rocks...lou holtz bent the rules to say the least, in several ways. I'm sure this was brought to your attention.

also, Bama has the 4th highest graduation rate among ballers...not bad.

ND academic standards are definitely tougher. Where it shows up in recruiting vs. Bama is not as much in talent as it is in depth of talent. We recruit about 35% (guessing) kids that wouldn't have a chance to get into ND. But if you look at the guys that did the damage, we have quite a few that would've gotten in. It's not like we only recruit dummies. AJ, TJ, the entire line minus probably fluker, and Cooper on offense, Square, Jesse Williams likely (he went juco b/c of his transition from Australia I believe...was an unknown here, and that guy recruited him to come here), Moseley, Dee Milliner, Sunseri at least on D.

I agree though, you need the other guys to get 22 starters on the field, and 22 behind them, and so on. I just feel like, on a national level, ND should be able to grab the smart guys from any of the 50 states and make up the difference for the most part. Look what Vanderbilt has been doing the past couple years with tougher academics and zero tradition to work with.
