Dude's arguments just make no sense to me whatsoever.
The two that kill me right now are the AD/Peyton comeback player of the year debate, and him trying to explain his prediction for ND beating us in the natty game.
I have no problem with Bayless thinking Peyton should win comeback player of the year. It's really a tossup. Problem is why he says AD isn't deserving of it. He says that because AD is a "workout warrior" that his ACL injury wasn't that big of a deal. WTF Skip? So because Peterson works his ass off in the weight room, his injury is somehow less serious? GTFO
He then goes on to admit that his prediction of ND was stupid but it wasn't that bad because A&M somehow should have transitively won the title. A&M beat us at home and losses can't be taken for granted in college football, BUT does not even want to acknowledge that A&M lost two games in the season. Those somehow don't matter because they were earlier in the year. Skip WTF are you talking about

None but that makes his comeback that much more impressive. I do get what you are saying when you say "comeback" though.
I remember seeing that leg when he hurt it, it actually reminded me of what Lattimore did to his this year, and thought there was no way he was going to play this year. He hurt that knee on Christmas Eve last year and didn't miss a game. That is amazing to me.

I personally disagree,
but I don't think anyone that votes for either one of them is necessarily wrong. I have a feeling that Manning will split it again. I think its far closer and a more legit split MVP then it was when Manning split it with McNair.

What is so special about AP this year that puts him in this conversation?
The 2000 rushing yards? Chris Johnson got that a few years back, and didn't get a single MVP vote. I understand there are differences between the two, but not enough to explain how one might win the MVP and the other not get a single vote.
The huge turnaround? Andrew Luck helped the Colts have a 11+ win differential, and he was the reason.
The only reason he is even in the conversation is people are putting his injury on a pedestal, that's it.

Well coming within 9 yards of the all time single season rushing record sure as shit has a lot to do with it. That and the fact that he did it with Ponder as his qb and against 8-9 man boxes all season long.
On the flip side, what is so special about what Manning did this year? He's had better numbers than he put up this year and there are other qb's with numbers just as good this year.
Is it because of the turnaround? Is it because of the injuries? I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

jrohawg,
I have no problem with Skip saying that he thinks Peyton should be comeback player of the year or MVP. My problem was the excuse he gave to back up his pick. He sits there and talks about how bad that RGIII's injury could have hurt his career because it was his ACL and then goes on to say that Peterson was a "workout warrior" and that an ACL isn't that bad an injury.
That is a big WTF to me. How someone could be so obviously hypocritical within five minutes when it comes to the same injury on two different players baffles me.
