I really want to punch Skip Bayless in the face

  • Dude's arguments just make no sense to me whatsoever.

The two that kill me right now are the AD/Peyton comeback player of the year debate, and him trying to explain his prediction for ND beating us in the natty game.

I have no problem with Bayless thinking Peyton should win comeback player of the year. It's really a tossup. Problem is why he says AD isn't deserving of it. He says that because AD is a "workout warrior" that his ACL injury wasn't that big of a deal. WTF Skip? So because Peterson works his ass off in the weight room, his injury is somehow less serious? GTFO

He then goes on to admit that his prediction of ND was stupid but it wasn't that bad because A&M somehow should have transitively won the title. A&M beat us at home and losses can't be taken for granted in college football, BUT does not even want to acknowledge that A&M lost two games in the season. Those somehow don't matter because they were earlier in the year. Skip WTF are you talking about

  • He's an idiot, Peyton isn't even having the best QB year. The MVP race should be between Rodgers and AD and I'd give it to AD.

Why do you watch his show? The things he says drive ratings. ESPN doesn't care people hate him, because they watch. Just stop watching the show, you know he's the dumbest person in America.

    I don't know.

I just record it on DVR and somehow continue watching it. I don't particularly like Stephen A Smith either.

Whatever they do works I suppose. I keep on watching the damn show.

  • Peyton is playing great this year, no offensive weapons unless you count Thomas as one. How many games did AP miss last year?

Decker and Thomas are good receivers. He also plays behind a good OL.

None but that makes his comeback that much more impressive. I do get what you are saying when you say "comeback" though.

I remember seeing that leg when he hurt it, it actually reminded me of what Lattimore did to his this year, and thought there was no way he was going to play this year. He hurt that knee on Christmas Eve last year and didn't miss a game. That is amazing to me.

True, but he also came off 4 neck surgeries at age 36 and had to adjust to a new team. I would go with Peyton but no wrong answer.

The age is certainly a factor. Let's not act like coming back from any injury isn't easier for a 27 year old when compared to an almost 40 year old.

  • Are we talking about MVP or comeback player? None of these issues should be considered for MVP. There is no spread for MVP. it's purely who meant the most to their team[or however you want to break it down]

Oh I agree it's amazing but I would have AP as MVP and Peyton has comeback sat out a whole year.

I wouldn't call Decker a good WR and Thomas drops a ton of balls. There OL is great and I mean great but I said offensive weapons. If someone wants to say he has great offensive weapons we will just have to agree to disagree if Eric Decker is one of your best WRs come on you know that's not good. Hell his favorite thing to do is to throw to his TEs. J. Tamme and J Dreessen say hey.

Back to Thomas and Decker, Thomas is a beast but he fumbled 3 times lost all 3 which was 2nd most only behind Marquis Colston. Decker YAC 267, while even Jacob Tamme's was 215. Thomas will be a beast but is there any reason not to think his numbers werent bc of Peyton? Decker had the 2nd most receiving TDs but again that's Peyton. I would have to look up the stats but I know not of their receptions totals put them in the top 20. Thomas is tied for 2nd with the most dropped passes and I know Decker is close to the top 10 for sure in the top15.

I do know Peyton was the 3rd in TDs , was number 6 in passing yards, and tied for 1st in completion percentage with Matty Ryan. His yards per attempt were 2nd behind RG3 and he was 2nd behind Rogers in QB rating with over a 105. He was also 2nd in least sacks allowed of starters only person ahead of him is his Brother Eli. Peyton had a great year to act like he didnt is hilarious. I would have to look it up but I know his passing attempts aren't in the top 5.

Sorry just love me some Peyton Manning which I knew exact stats and more but don't have the time to look them up this late.

  • jrohawg,

I have no problem with Skip saying that he thinks Peyton should be comeback player of the year or MVP. My problem was the excuse he gave to back up his pick. He sits there and talks about how bad that RGIII's injury could have hurt his career because it was his ACL and then goes on to say that Peterson was a "workout warrior" and that an ACL isn't that bad an injury.

That is a big WTF to me. How someone could be so obviously hypocritical within five minutes when it comes to the same injury on two different players baffles me.

  • That show isn't about quality sports talk...it's about those two being the biggest idiots possible to attract viewers. My dad, who doesn't even like sports even close to what I do, said when I had it on in the background once, ''Those guys don't even know what they're talking about. They just yell at each other.''

    I personally disagree,

but I don't think anyone that votes for either one of them is necessarily wrong. I have a feeling that Manning will split it again. I think its far closer and a more legit split MVP then it was when Manning split it with McNair.

What is so special about AP this year that puts him in this conversation?

The 2000 rushing yards? Chris Johnson got that a few years back, and didn't get a single MVP vote. I understand there are differences between the two, but not enough to explain how one might win the MVP and the other not get a single vote.

The huge turnaround? Andrew Luck helped the Colts have a 11+ win differential, and he was the reason.

The only reason he is even in the conversation is people are putting his injury on a pedestal, that's it.

Well coming within 9 yards of the all time single season rushing record sure as shit has a lot to do with it. That and the fact that he did it with Ponder as his qb and against 8-9 man boxes all season long.

On the flip side, what is so special about what Manning did this year? He's had better numbers than he put up this year and there are other qb's with numbers just as good this year.

Is it because of the turnaround? Is it because of the injuries? I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

I ain't to impressed with Manning either, but I would still vote him over AP.

And Chris Johnson broke the most yards from scrimmage record (2,509 yards), and did it with Kerry Collins and Vince Young as his QB.

    Okay that's fine.

I've stated several times that I have no issue with anyone voting for either AP or Manning. It's personal opinion when it comes down to it. Both had awesome years.

I'm sorry I should have posted on that. I hate skip and agree completely. Being a workout warrior is retarded. 4 neck surgeries and Peyton came back but he's not a workout warrior. AP had an awesome season as did Peyton.

I think AD should get it because he doesnt touch the ball every play... but i wont belly ache for Peyton..its pretty damn remarkable on both their parts.
