I wish there were more/better OOC matchups each year ...

  • I understand why coaches and ADs do not want to schedule major OOC games but for the fans it would be so awesome. LSUs schedule outside the SEC was an absolute joke and this year was nowhere near exciting coming in or even playing in the middle of the OOC schedule for that matter because of the matchups. No offense to Udub but if that is your best OOC game and you win by 40 then that blows.

I loved it two years ago when we played Oregon and West Virginia in the same year along with the conference slate. I hope moving forward with the new playoff that it causes better matchups for teams trying to build resumes. (And not kickoff classics or any of that junk ... Home & Homes is the way to go imo)

  • As an Oregon fan I was hoping Bray, Hunter and Patterson could have improved over this season and stuck around for next year. Nevada will probably be more competitive than TN will be now.

I have never had a problem with us playing one in-state school a year. it is better than any FCS opponent in my book but at the end of the day it would be nice to play an OOC slate with nothing but schools from AQ conferences.

  • We play TCU to open up the season next year in Dallas. Udub last season.. Oregon and wvu before, wvu before that.. Vtech before that.. LSU actually plays a big OOS game every year.. A ton of other SEC teams don't which is sad. Bama has been doing the same recently and UGA always seems to play tough OOS games too

  • Oklahoma had a long history of being the only one to schedule good OOC games. Texas has picked up the slack the last two years and that will continue from their future schedules. Okstate is finally beefing up their schedule. I think TCU does a good job but the rest of the league (Kansas,Baylor,KSU,Tech, and WVU) have absolutely done nothing regarding scheduling

    This.

Neutral site games are always one-off things and tend to be more of an "event" and less about the football. Much prefer home and homes

WVU usually schedules at least one good OOC, and then we always play Maryland. I know our AD wants to renew the rivalry with VT, we'll see what happens there. I like the idea of a game every year at FedEx Field.

WVU plays Alabama in the 2014 season opener.

  • Once the 4 team playoff comes into being, I would really like to see a formula that strongly rewards a good OOC win, but only slightly punishes a good OOC loss.

It would be nice to have some sort of extra brownie points for playing AQ teams OOC.

  • If it was up to me, I would have Alabama playing AT LEAST one blue blood every year in a neutral or H&A matchup.

    Agreed

I would love to choose a team to play every two years in the H&A format like we did with Penn State. I would love to see H&A's with Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, OSU, Miami, FSU and even some up and comers like Oregon, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, West Virginia, etc.

Would have included Virginia Tech but we've done the neutral site thing with them and I expect them to be in the SEC sooner than later honestly. I'm assuming that North Carolina will be joining with them but that is just a guess.

I actually think that this form of thinking is on the table. They haven't nailed down exactly how they are going to do it, but they only have six more months or so to figure it all out I believe. I've heard that SOS is going to be a lot more important than it is in the BCS.

  • I'm with you, I hate when Auburn schedules state schools 3 out of 4 OOC.

Yeah, it must be awkward for all the OSU fans to put on all their scarlet and gray to cheer against their alma maters.

  • I'm really hoping this is taken into account for any new playoff format .. its hurting college football fans with the lack of good OOC games .

They just need to go to the new 64 team division and the only OOC scheduling should be intradovisional, maybe one FBS/FCS team before a rivalry game or something.

need more qualified voters. No way in hell should a team like Northern Illinois ever get ranked 15. Problem is that there is no realistic way to get qualified voters to really matter in CFB today. Too political.

Aren't you the one who talked about there being no difference between a few spots. The only reason why people care NIU got to 15 is because what it did to the BCS Bowls. Had they been 17, no one would care.

The Sagarin predictor has NIU in the 40's. That is a much more accurate ranking than 15 or 17.

Cool. Maybe we should just do our polls on one computer ranking then.
