  • Legit question, imo.

  • Probably because Donkey Kong Suh represented all the defensive players that year.

You just listed four offensive players and a lineman. I don't see a linebacker.

Those stats are Heisman worthy for a MLB on an undefeated team and the number one scoring defense one year, but not the other?

If you want to use stats from 2009 heisman trophy stuff, Toby Gerhardt is your winner.

Dude had better stats and faced statistically better defenses than Ingram.

    Alonzo Harris

  • By the way, McClain didn't even finish in the Top 10 of voting.

Tebow for one. He was only invited because he's Tim Tebow.

The reference I used saio 13,but I'll change them. I don't think they are that big of a difference after you take out the BCSNG.

Uh...players are able to get stats in their 13th game and count...not sure why I'm supposed to extrapolate them to 12 because y'all dont play a CCG.

By the way, they are still pretty much the exact same.

PAC 10....."Better" defenses than in the SEC?

See Reggie Bush 2005 yards per carry as well as the career yards per carry of LaMichael James at Oregon. Now see their NFL yards per carry....at least for Bush. Bush averaged 8.7 yards per carry in 2005, 200 carries, 1,740 yards. When's the last time a RB got substantial carries in the SEC and managed that type of average yards per carry?

You can also take a look at the number of NFL defensive players by conference. I suppose you think Thomas Tyner would run wild in Georgia 6A too? Ask Chip Kelly. Different breed of athlete in these parts.

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel posed a fascinating question during a conversation last summer. Where, Neuheisel asked, can a coach go to find the best defensive linemen?

Jabrill Peppers...More I watch, the more I'm convinced he is the best player in the 2014 class. Barring injury, he will do special things.

I said statistically better defenses in 2009, yes. You wanna look at Percy Harvin's 9.4 and 9.2 per pop in 2007 and 2008? There you are.

How about Darren McFadden averaging 5.8 for his career, just a bit short of Bush's 7.3 with nearly twice the carries.

Bush also averaged 15.9 per carry against the only SEC defense he faced in 2005 as well as 23.3 per catch, doesn't help your case does it?

Lmao at comparing Georgia to Oregon. No there isn't a different type of athlete, we have the most NFLers of any state in CA, so save it. I remember DeAnthony Thomas making North Gwinnett players look like they were running in sand a few years ago. That was a complete mismatch, talk about running wild.
