  • The best I've ever seen was AC/DC and Kid Rock

Nota huge kid rock fan, but the guy was impressive in concert. Saw him open for Korn and Metallica back in 2000. The guy played every single instrument while he was on stage.

Best live show there is though is the Boss. Springsteen is unreal.

  • Bump for ideas on an actual live halftime show for the superbowl. I mean people that can actually play.

  • Not their biggest fan but Lamb of God - Killadelphia is the best sounding live concert I've ever heard.. It's better than any produced CD.

And their songs are not easy to play.

Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Pulse 1994 (...

Pink Floyd - Pulse Filmed at London Earls Court on Oct 20, 1994. There's nothing to say about the best band ever known on earth is playing on the best ever concert !!!

Kind of defeats the purpose seeing as though a lot of the real Pink Floyd are dead right? At least the main man is now. Give us some young dudes that can rock it the fvck out.

  • Anything with Aaron Lewis. Just picked this one because it is my current favorite. Puts legit emotions into his songs.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

Yeah that is him. I always thought he was one of the better live performers. Another great is Elton John

    Mr Perfect

  • Ah...the young. Concerts I've seen live...

Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Traffic, Cream, Blind Faith (Clapton with just about everyone he's played with...Delany Bonnie and Friends, Derek and the Dominoes...) Stevie Winwood, The Eagles, The Who, The Stones (when they were actually wild boys) Janis Jolplin, The Beatles all three times in L.A., Led Zepplin, The Beach Boys and every surf band who ever recorded, Howlin' Wolf at the Filmore, John Lee Hooker, Etta James, Bo Diddly, Big Mama Thornton, Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon...just off the top of my head..in the old days, several big names toured in a caravan, like Coachella.

Then, another generation, I took my girls to see U2, The Cure, Oingo Boingo, Bjork, Nirvana, Pearl Jam.......

    Best live performance? Hendrix.

  • the best performance I have seen is Dave Matthews at the Piedmont in 07. Dude can really put on a show. Granted I haven't done a whole lot of shows but this one was awesome. Would definitely do another Dave show if one came close to me.

    Oh no he didn't

  • Music Midtown in Atlanta about 10 years ago. Bush opened for Stone Temple Pilots. Best live show I have seen. I have been to about 15 Black Crowes concerts and could name 3 or 4 that would be right there as well.

That Nirvana Unplugged album is one of the greatest live albums of all time. I still listen to it all the time.

best show I've been too. Dave Grohl is great with the crowd. Not the best quality video, but I was at this particular show. Their concert at Wembley stadium is impressive.

Rush live is a close second in my book surprisingly. Neal Peart is ridiculous. And Alex Lifeson is a very underrated guitar play IMO.

    I didn't record those video's btw. lulz

  • one person from PF is dead. Cobain is dead - sounds like a tie...

Pink Floyd's Division Bell tour - 1994 - saw them in Bham - Legion Field - best show ever on the planet and i've seen plenty of the bands you are discussing here on the board.

Note: Cobain died in 1994 - so I think PF is relevant to this conversation.

for the record - never saw Nirvana live - but love the meat puppets song you started the thread with. they all have their place in history as far as I'm concerned.

they were pretty good, saw them at Phillilps arena - think back then it was the Omni (in Atlanta) but we had seats next to the stage on the right. in front of some speakers - totally rocked the house. STP is still one of my all time favs from "that" era.

Actually got the threads mixed up when I answered that one. Seems stupid since it was started by me but I was hammered. It happens.

I've actually met Dave Grohl a few times. My older sister dated the drummer from a band called Verbena way back in the day. Dave Grohl produced and really put that band together. They never got big or anything but it was cool to meet Grohl. Real down to earth guy and he fvcking HATES Courtney Love. From his mouth he blames Cobain's death on her.

I saw them when they kicked off their reunion tour in 2009 at Rock on the Range. Was right infront of the stage was a blast.

Saw Kid Rock that day too. Rev Run was there with him, they sang It's Tricky, that was some of the most fun I had at a concert.
