Just read that the Hospitality industry had the 2nd highest growth, employee wise, last year. Looks like you're in the right place at the right time!

People are definitely traveling again. Trend started back upwards in 2011, but 2012 was a great year and 2013 in expected to be even better.

I have to admit that I sometimes miss actually dealing with customers at times. Most of my time these days are spent dealing with Directors of Sales and Marketing and corporate office folk. I love when I get somewhere and find a young lady in the position. Not for the reasons that you might think, but because older people are just incompetent with websites and social media. If they are old, I check out room service for long nights of doing it for them. If they are young, I start looking for sports bars in the area.

I am just hoping the trend sticks for another 4 or 5 years. Then I plan on trying to teach or become an adjunct professor at a college and leave this business behind in some regards.

When I left my event management company, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy getting back into the purely hospitality side of things, but the hours have been better and the travel is less stressful. Technology has really helped allow me to stay in one location more than I was the last time I was dealing with market/marketing auditing.

I know. I was in Orlando at Disney World and there were a good number of UGA and Nebraska fans around. 7 days, 2 of them got above 70 and 3 of them were in the 50's all day and freezing at night. Oh well, we still had a blast.

Not making the trip all the way back to Miami after that. Sucks to miss it. With out luck, maybe next year biggrin.

Plus, they already have a QB that's pretty much useless.

  • i don't see Chip's success translating. plus, i think it really put O behind the 8-ball offensively.

I would say Philly or Cleveland.

2 trains of thought for me. One.....if he goes to Philly, maybe Vick isn't done there, although I still think he probably is.

Also Chip is a running guy and Cleveland with Trent would give him something build around. Not having a mobile QB, like Weeden, could also be a blessing for him as it would make him adapt a little more than he might want to which could be good for the long run.

I also would love to see him in Carolina (if they make a change) as it would be very tempting to see him along with Cam and see if he can do exactly the same thing in the NFL as he has done at Oregon. I have my doubts that it would work, but it would be fun to see him try.

I also don't buy into all the people that don't think he is a good enough coach to coach a different style. Most coaches do what they need to do to win. At Oregon, he needed that style to gain a recruiting advantage and to gain an advantage on the field before they had all the guns. I don' think it was as much about the type of skill players Oregon could get, but more about the type of OL it was hard to get. I could be wrong though.

I fully agree, just like most that try to go pro and implement a spread. The problem with a spread in the NFL is the Ds are way to fast and the individuals are way too smart to get fooled. He looked like he was running a trick play offense last night. He's gimmicky at best.

    Yeah, I said it.

it's one thing to win and direct a program full on 18-23 year old's on scholarship because of you.

an entirely different beast directing grown men that are on contract and paid to play for you.

i just don't see his personality as one that can direct men. not yet, at least.

not to mention - it's also something not discussed a great deal publicly but he's not a former collegiate or professional athlete. i think that has an effect in a league like the NFL.

  • Don't understand why the NFL, even before the Ponder injury, chose this game for prime time. Would have much rather seen RGIII against the Seattle defense. Now I'm bored, posting idle thoughts on an Indiana football thread.

I expected better. Especially after the 1st or 2nd play of the game when the pass broke down and Webb ran for the first down. That, as it turns out, was the best play of the game for the Vikings.

    Yeah, I said it.
