When I was a little Stache, my mother and I took a drive down a deserted road in The swamps of Florida. She told me how much she loved me and how proud she was of me. I was 7 years old. She said "Little Stache, there's comes a time when choices have to be made. You're old enough to know the difference in right and wrong. I'll support you in whatever you do in life, but you have to choose. She said you can either be an Alabama fan, eventually enroll there, and enjoy what no one in this family has ever experienced. Or, She said, you can be an Auburn fan and get the fvck outta my car. So I picked Alabama. It's then when we started up that car again and started doing donuts, Dukes of Hazzard style while screaming Roll Tide. Later, we went out for some cross burning and that began a beautiful life journey.

Ohio is known as the Buckeye state and the state song is Hang on Sloopy.
Ohio State was the first college campus I ever went to (age 8).
The first person to graduate from college in my family, either side, graduated from Ohio State.
Those Buckeye leafs, man.

Everyone has a choice. Work your ass off in high school, get in to school of choice, receive scholarships as a result of hard work in high school, supplement scholarships with student loans.

You misunderstood.
I meant you had a choice in which team you root for.
I was a Buckeye fan before I really understood what college even was.

That does make more sense. I'd also add to my previous post that if you're serving our country or supporting a family under certain circumstances, I totally understand not wanting to take on loans.

My entire family on my dads side going back to my Great Grandfather have been rabid ND fans. I applied there but was denied. No hard feelings, I still love the school & its football program.

Ok the school they support...but in all fairness, not everyone can attend the school of their choice. I had a baseball scholarship from Shelton State...but i lived on UofA's campus. Not everyone has the privileged to attend the school they wanted too. Money, etc.
