Canes fan living in Jersey.... I was going to games in the OB with my pop in the 70's when people would beat us by 20, 30, 40 on a consistent basis. My dad used to say to me, "if we ever keep the kids down here home, we'll be very, very good." I thought he was either crazy or the nostradomus of college football. He was neither. Just a realist and if we keep those kids, we'll get back to the elite once again...

Pretty much. My great grandfather, grandfather, and my father used to farm rice and soybeans there in the Delta.
My grandfather had a full ride, basketball scholarship to Ole Miss in 1954. Oxford is just two hours from my their house (4 hours to Fay). He turned it down to farm since he was the youngest sibling. He figured he needed to stay and help his family. He was 6'2" and back then that was tall. He played post and averaged more than 30 points a game. I still have his high school info at my grandmother's house.
My dad farmed so no college for him. My mom went to Memphis Tech for some computer shit. I'm the first in my family to graduate from Arkansas. My sister is a sophomore there now.

Mom got married and moved to Tupelo, MS. She said she's surrounded by Ole Miss, State, and Bama fans. She can't stand the Bama fans, and she prefers the Hotty Toddy's to the Bully's.
