ITT post your teams biggest question mark IYO...

  • Mine would have to be the new starters in the secondary. It's not for a lack of talent but experience..Most might say B.Jones moving to center. He's already played every other position well enough that it's not as big a concern and as good as Vlachos was I think Jones will be better suited to play center moving foward for us and beyond..

That really isn't as bad as most think. He doesn't have to throw for 30 touchdowns, just protect the ball and let you guys defense take care of business and they'll be fine.

  • Oregon is in transition in a sense at QB, RB, and TE. Defense really has no issues as we now have experienced depth and every position basically.

QB - Mariota or Bennett, winner has yet to be decided and won't be till about a week before our first game. Most fans feel right now that even though Bennett is more experienced, Mariota has the edge at this point. It will all come down to pre-season camp.

RB - Obviously with James moving on the biggest question is can Barner carry the load. It's no secret that De'Anthony Thomas will make things happen with his touches. Expect Byron Marshall to take some pressure off Barner as a T-Fr. if he comes out of fall camp with the coaches confidence. But Barner will likely be the 20-25 carry/game guy.

TE - With Paulson gone, there is a lot of youth at the TE position. 5 of Lyerla's 7 catches last year went for TDs, so he can clearly be called on to finish plays. The question is will he be mature and consistent enough to be the leader of the group, athletically he's the total package. T-Fr. Evan Baylis impressed our TE coach with how prepared he was for spring ball and will be the favorite to be Lyerla's backup. R-Fr. Lake Koa-Ka'ai has been moved from DE to TE, and the other guys in the mix are Pharaoh Brown and TJ Daniel. Basically we are VERY young at the position.

I guess RB would be the biggest of the 3, mainly because we really lack depth. Kelly has a history have having his QBs ready to play regardless of experience so I just don't see it as a big worry to be honest and Kelly will like adjust the offense depending on the effectiveness of Lyerla and Co. at TE.

  • My biggest Question mark for my Hokies is the offensive line...I think the WRs will be able to step up..but we're gonna have to be able to run the ball because it may take some time for Logan Thomas to get in a rhythm with them

Besides probably LB and DL, we really have no idea what to expect.

  • Virginia's Defense-namely the secondary. The front seven is gonna have to get to the QB if they do UVA will have a good year. Offense returns just about everybody so we should put up a lot of points.

the new starters in the secondary ? no this could be the best unit of ball hawks in the Saban era at Bama .

area's of slight concern going into August are :
    #2 QB , #2 NT, #2 LT, #2 OC,& LongSnapper

  • texas' biggest question mark was at kicker/punter, w/ the graduation of 4 yr starter justin tucker. now that anthony fera has transferred from penn state, that position is no longer an issue.

the argument could be made that qb is the next biggest area of concern, but i think it's really the offensive line. ash was a true freshman who got next to no snaps in summer/early fall practices due to being 3rd/4th on the depth chart. considering that, he did pretty damn well last year. he's had a year in the system, a summer to act as the leader of the offense (and by all accounts, he has stepped into that role very well), and now, i think his success is going to be determined by the support he gets from his offensive line.

the ol was been the biggest reason for texas' lack of success in 2010. yes, gilbert sucked out loud, but because of attrition and poor recruiting evaluation, texas was starting true freshmen and a kid who was recruited to be a backup tight end. w/ searles on staff, that has changed dramatically. the biggest change is the willingness to take juco kids, and bringing hawkins in to play lt allows trey hopkins to move from lt to lg - his more natural position. the right side of the line should be solid - mason walters is tough as nails at rg, and josh cochran is solid at rt. the big question mark is whether dominic espinosa has gained enough size/strength to hold the middle against dominant dt/ng. espinosa was injured coming out of hs and again as a rsf, so he has never been healthy enough to spend a full year in the weight room - he simply wasn't strong enough to hold his own against top flight dl, especially when they lined up right over the top of him in a 0 technique. if he can hold his own, this is going to be a very good year for the horns.

fera is from texas and someone in his immediate family has recently contracted multiple sclerosis (i'm guessing his mom, but that's pure speculation). he's really transferring to be closer to home, not ditch psu. if that hadn't happened, i don't think he comes. he'll also transfer his texas credits back to psu and graduate as a nittany lion, not a longhorn.

  • DT. Michigan replacing both DTs from last year. One (Will Campbell) was a 5* recruit that has yet to live up to expectations. The other was a WDE last year (Jibreel Black) and has been trying to bulk up. He is almost 280 lbs now.

He's had the playbook since the day he's transferred, I guess we are going to know this week when camp opens how well he has learned it to this point. Physically he is a beast and should have no problems. I like Rocco and think he will be the starter week 1 but something tells me Sims will be the starter by mid-season.
